Samson's outburst was sharp, his body jerking back in sheer panic.
Angel pushed Samson slightly from her front, her expression unreadable.
At that moment, Samson stiffened, momentarily startled by her actions. Angel feigned surprise, acting as if his behavior had caught her off guard, but deep down, she couldn't care less.
After all, he had come here pretending to be his brother, so he might as well commit to the role until she was satisfied—or at least until they were done with whatever game they were playing.
"Rascal?" Angel repeated, her tone laced with mock astonishment as she fixed him with a wide-eyed, flabbergasted look.
A bead of cold sweat trickled down Samson's temple.
The last thing he wanted was to ruin the plan, especially over something as petty as his distaste for Angel.
