"I do want that position—desperately. I've dreamt of it for as long as I can remember. I made a promise to myself that I would achieve it, no matter the cost." He took a deep breath, his eyes burning with an unshakable resolve. "And besides… this might be the only way to bring us closer—as his son. I can't afford to lose that connection, Jude. I won't. So I don't care what it takes. If this is the price, then I'm willing to pay it."
