After watching him stabilise his emotions, Spirit asked him again. And surprisingly, there was a little tension in his voice
" So about the offer Kevin, do you agree, are you willing to be my son "
Kevin smiled broadly and said
" of course, I feel lucky, who doesn't want to be your son "
Spirit's tensed heart suddenly calmed down. He couldn't believe his ears. He had been waiting to hear this from Kevin for so long. Since he met the boy, he had been so obsessed about him and wanted him to be under his control. He had done many absurd things for the kid. Enrolling him in a school a good one on top of that. Meeting him personally for the first time, fulfilling all his demands and even answering all his answers. Such attitude towards a newbie was unlike him. Spirit always loved the thought of things been in his control. He wanted to control everyone. He had once felt this obsession towards Linda but that kid was stubborn and difficult to control just like Kevin. Before he had realised anything, Linda had already slipped from his hands. He never wanted that to happen to Kevin and even went to extreme lengths as to kill the old woman. He knew that was the only obstacle in the way and once that was cleared off, Kevin would finally be his. That kid exuded the aura of leadership and he lived it. He would make a great leader and wouldn't mind passing the whole black circle to him if he can be trusted. He smiled at this thought, but then a thought crossed his mind and he subconsciously frowned. Things were going on much easier than he had expected, the Kevin he knew wouldn't simply agree to it without asking one or two questions. He had thought by the time Kevin agrees it, then he would already feel like he was nearing his grave because of Kevin's questions. As he was a little bit lost in his thoughts, Kevin's childish voice brought him back to reality
" but Spirit, beforehand, I would like you to answer some only one question for me "
Spirit instantly smiled, now the Kevin he knew was back. He nodded and gestured him to continue. He then proceeded to ask his question
" why would you want to adopt me of all people. "
Spirit smiled knowing this was the question he would ask. He asked instead
" and why are you also asking this question. You previously said you feel lucky so why bother about the reason. All you have to do is prepare to be Maxwell Adams son and be a member of his family "
Kevin looked at him and snorted
" of course I feel lucky but I can't just be accepting help from people. Grandma had always said everything comes with a price in this world. By all means you are not doing this out of any kind gesture, you might want something from me. Not now but in the future I'm sure. And I don't want to be bounded to any bet and be controlled around. So at least let me know in advance "
Spirit stared at the child in awe not been able to talk for almost two minutes. This child easily saw through him and made quick analysis. His smartness never ceases to amaze him. It was beyond his imagination. His blood suddenly boiled with excitement as he stared at the child. This only made his obsession grow and he vowed to make him his puppet. This little guy was really a good choice, he might even surpass Linda's abilities. He said honestly
" Kevin, I've already told you before that you are a special kid and I love keeping special kids by my side. Besides you might be of great help to me in the nearby future just don't think you are indepted to me. "
Kevin looked at him with hidden suspicion. He didn't believe him a bit but feigned a believing expression and said
" okay but remember, just like you have said I do not owe you. You are doing this on your own and I can choose not to agree "
Spirit nodded and said
" Don't worry it's a promise and am gonna keep my word "
Kevin nodded with a forced smile on his face. Spirit stood up and said.
" it's settled them, you are now an Adams. Very soon I would officially announce it to the whole word "
He said with a little pride. Kevin saw it but kept a blind eye on it and begun thinking of how he would deal with Spirit in the near future. Spirit turned to leave but stopped, turned back and said
" Also I would take you back home at the end of this month. I would explain somethings to my wife. Ron would enlighten you about the current events
Before Kevin could say anything, Spirit was gone. He sat down for sometime looking dejected.

" wow you hit a jackpot Kevin. I can't help getting envy of you. No matter what you do you are lucky. "
Ron said happily jogging behind Kevin. Upon hearing Ron's words Kevin only smiled lightly. If only he knew what was really going on he wouldn't have said that. But Ron didn't notice it and continued to ramble
" just yesterday you were a nobody but now you are the son of the legendary Maxwell Adams, perhaps should we start calling you boss "
Kevin laughed out and only said
" whatever "
" but you are very lucky. I heard Spirit's wife is very beautiful. You are going to get a beautiful mother. I also heard she is calm and so nice "
Kevin's face darkened upon hearing this and suddenly stopped in his tracks. He turned and asked
" wife, Spirit has a wife "
Ron nodded and continued to talk
" yeah he has a wife, your father didn't tell about your mom, hahahaaa "
Ron mocked him. When he heard your father, he couldn't help but shudder uncontrollably, Spirit can never be his dad. He quickly shoke that strange feeling away and asked seriously
" Ron please, enough with your games, explain things today more "
Ron nodded and said
" yeah yeah Spirit really he's a wife. I've heard she is really gentle extremely low profile. Infact few people know this truth. He even has two kids "
" two kids "
this time Kevin's eyes almost popped out in disbelief. Spirit has a wife and two kids. He didn't see that coming. Ron then said
" I think they are of the opposite sex "
Kevin said nothing anymore and his eyes were blank. He's definitely going to have a tough way in the house nevertheless his taste for revenge was strong and he was willing to get it. Who ever thought that the heartless Spirit would have a family. Maybe he can try by targeting his family first. After all it is a tit for tat. He had killed his only relative first
But who knew, Kevin couldn't do anything to the innocent family.
