Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Initialization with Nano

"""

(A/N): I'll be modifying the Nano Machine interaction to fit a mindspace theme, similar to how a Jinchūriki communicates with their tailed beast. Additionally, I'll be expanding the chakra application options to add more depth to the system. Bear with me—this novel will be worth your time!

As I thought about God, a distant memory resurfaced—the wish that had been granted to me. A spark of realization flickered in my mind, and I instinctively called out, 'Nano' But no response came.

Was it inactive due to my young age? Or was there another reason? My thoughts swirled with possibilities, but exhaustion weighed heavier. Even though I had done nothing physically, my body was still that of a child. The mere act of staying awake this long was already a feat. Slowly, sleep overtook me, pulling me into its depths.

When I opened my eyes, I was no longer in the Nara compound. Instead, I stood in a vast space filled with darkness—an endless void stretching in all directions. Yet beneath me lay a single, pristine marble road, floating in the abyss. At the center of this strange path stood a stick, and atop it, a lone red button.

I frowned, my mind racing. What is this place? Why am I here? The void offered no answers, only silence. Time passed, though I couldn't tell how long. And in the end, there was only one thing I could do.

I reached forward—And pressed the button.

The moment I pressed the button, a mechanical voice rang in my head.

"Initializing Nano..."

Before I could react, the space around me began to shift. The endless void flickered, and in its place, a sleek white room materialized, its walls smooth and metallic. The transformation was seamless—furniture and equipment formed out of thin air, each piece radiating an advanced, futuristic design. A specimen lab, a training arena, an armory filled with unfamiliar weapons, a high-tech library filled with data archives—everything screamed technology far beyond anything I had ever seen.

I felt a rush of excitement at the possibilities, but I quickly forced myself to calm down. Excitement leads to carelessness. I needed information first.

"Nano, explain all features, their uses, and benefits."

"Understood. The Host will receive detailed information shortly. Beginning body scan."

As I waited, a soft hum resonated through the space. Then, after a brief pause, Nano spoke again.

"Host, an unidentified energy has been detected in your lower abdomen. The energy levels are steadily increasing at a stable rate. Should I locate the source and purge it?"

I instantly understood what Nano was referring to—chakra.

"No. Do not purge it. Instead, scan the energy and analyze its abilities."

There was a brief silence before Nano responded.

"Calculating scan time… Estimated duration: 360 days."

I blinked. A whole year?

"Why does it take so long?" I asked, frowning.

"This energy is unknown to my database. No prior knowledge exists. Full scanning and analysis will require extensive observation. However, initial assessment suggests this energy is non-harmful and, in fact, beneficial to the host. Extracting all relevant information—including its source, properties, and potential applications—will take time."

I let out a slow breath, absorbing the information. A year was a long time, but it would be worth the wait if Nano could truly decipher chakra and unlock its secrets.

"Fine," I muttered. "Proceed with the scan."

"Scanning the unknown Energy"

"Estimated Time:359 days 23 hours 59 min 59 sec"

As the time began to countdown, I relaxed, knowing that after this scan, my understanding of chakra would expand significantly. My knowledge is primarily based on anime, which may be superficial and inaccurate, as I believe Nano mentioned.

"The user must brace themselves, as the information will be directly transmitted to their brain, which will take a toll since it is not fully developed, given that the user is a baby."

I nodded in understanding, as transmitting information directly to the brain must be exhausting even for an adult, and said

"Continue"

The nano said

"The information will be transmitted to the owner in .."

The instant the countdown reached zero, a burst of information slammed into my brain. My vision blurred as a tidal wave of knowledge surged through my mind. It wasn't chakra-related information, but something far more alien—Nano's systems, features, and abilities.

A cold, mechanical voice echoed in my head:

"Initializing Core Knowledge Transfer. The host will gain a foundational understanding of Nano's capabilities, constraints, and functional applications."

My consciousness trembled as the overwhelming data stream intensified.

— [Nano Integration System]: A biomechanical upgrade designed for complete bodily optimization, capable of adapting according to the host's physiological and neurological development.

— [Augmented Processing]: Enhances cognitive function, improving memory retention, calculation speed, and logical reasoning. Limited by the host's current brain development.

— [Adaptive Body Enhancement]: Gradual improvement of muscular efficiency, bone density, and cellular regeneration. Passive and non-invasive to prevent unnatural growth.

— [Combat Assistance Mode]: A tactical support system that provides predictive analysis in battle, offering optimal movement recommendations based on enemy behavior. (LOCKED due to the host's physical limitations.)

— [Bio-Scan and Optimization]: Real-time health diagnostics, accelerated injury repair, and detection of foreign substances or abnormalities in the body.

— [Database Expansion]: Capable of storing and analyzing new information obtained through experience and external sources. Self-learning enabled.

— [Analytical System]: Memorization and pattern recognition engine that allows the host to break down and retain information related to physical movements, combat styles, and written knowledge. Capable of accelerating learning efficiency for techniques and strategies. (Limited by host's neural growth.)

Each function was outlined in intricate detail, yet my immature brain struggled to fully grasp the depth of its potential.

"Host's neural pathways are still developing. Full utilization of Nano's abilities will be unlocked progressively as growth milestones are reached."

I clenched my teeth internally. 'So even with this technology inside me, I can't use its full power yet'. It was frustrating but logical.

I carefully processed every piece of information, mapping out my next steps. My physical movements would be severely limited in the coming years, but my mind—that was something I could refine. If I wanted to grow stronger, I had to start now, laying the groundwork while I still had time.

After a moment of thought, I asked, "Nano, can you gradually enhance specific aspects of my body during my developmental period—from infancy to toddlerhood?"

Nano's reply was immediate, the robotic voice resonating in my head.

"Affirmative. The Nano System is capable of distributing resources to optimize certain areas of the host's development. However since the host is young and its neural structure is not yet complete, rapid augmentation is limited to avoid anomalies. Slow optimization is recommended."

I figured as much. Sudden growth would be detrimental. I required consistent, controlled development to prevent permanent harm.

"Name the parameters that can be improved within safety developmental limits," I ordered.

Nano replied in a flash.

"Available Optimization Paths:

1. Cognitive & Memory Enhancement – Increases mental processing speed, memory retention, and learning efficiency. Enhances logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

2. Agility – Improves movement speed, reaction time, and evasive capabilities. Enhances coordination for rapid adjustments in combat.

3. Dexterity – Refines fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and precision. Affects everything from weapon handling to subtle movements in combat.

4. Strength – Gradually increases muscle density and power output while maintaining efficiency. Prevents unnecessary bulkiness to preserve speed.

5. Endurance – Enhances stamina, pain tolerance, and muscle recovery rate. Helps sustain prolonged battles and harsh training conditions.

6. Flexibility – Improves range of motion, muscle elasticity, and adaptability in movement. Vital for unconventional combat styles and avoiding injury.

7. Reaction Speed – Boosts neural response time, allowing for faster reflexes and instantaneous decision-making in combat.

8. Stealth Optimization – Enhances silent movement, body control, and breath regulation to avoid detection.

9. Chakra Sensory Development – Optimizes neural pathways for better chakra control and perception. (Requires full chakra analysis to unlock its full potential.) "

"Developmental Limitations Detected:

1. The host's body can handle up to four optimizations at a time.

2 . Excessive enhancement beyond this limit will result in growth instability, cognitive strain, or severe physical exhaustion.

3 . Selected enhancements will be gradual to ensure safe adaptation.

4. Adjustments can be made after the host's body matures further. "

I carefully weighed my options. Strength alone wouldn't make me unstoppable—Tsunade was the strongest woman in Konoha, capable of shattering the ground with a single punch, but what good was all that power if she was too slow to land a hit on someone truly fast? She was like a rampaging rhino—unstoppable in motion, but if you could evade her, she was left wide open.

That wasn't the path I wanted.

Instead, I thought of Minato Namikaze and Shisui Uchiha. Their combat style was something I admired—blinding speed, precise strikes, and flawless execution. Minato could end battles before they even began, his movements so fast that opponents barely had time to react. Shisui was the same, moving like a phantom, striking and vanishing before his enemies even understood what happened.

I needed that speed. Agility to avoid attacks, dexterity to land precise strikes, and the reaction speed to counter anything thrown at me. With enough agility, I could strike and withdraw before anyone could touch me. Power meant nothing if you couldn't land a hit, and defense was useless if you couldn't dodge.

With that in mind, I made my decision.

"Prioritize Cognitive & Memory Enhancement, Agility, Dexterity, and Reaction Speed."

"Acknowledged. Optimization will begin immediately. Gradual adjustments will ensure safe integration."

Instantly, a strange warmth spread through my skull, a subtle pressure forming at the back of my mind. At the same time, a tingling sensation ran through my limbs, as if my body was subtly shifting at a microscopic level.

This was the beginning.

I clenched my tiny fists, my resolve solidifying. I would use every advantage I had. I would become strong. Not for the village. Not for some grand ideal.

For myself. For my mother.

And for the day I would face the gods and demand my answers.

As I was deep in thought, formulating my next steps, a sudden force pulled me out of the strange futuristic room. My vision blurred for a moment before I found myself back in reality—lying in a cradle.

The room around me had a distinct old-fashioned Japanese aesthetic. Wooden floors creaked softly under the weight of the house, while delicate paper walls let in the faint glow of the moon. Traditional paintings adorned the space, their brushstrokes telling silent stories of a world long before my time. It was a peaceful sight, yet it only reminded me of how different this world was from my previous one.

Looking outside, I saw that the day had slipped away, replaced by the cool embrace of night. A soft breeze rustled the leaves outside, and the distant hum of the village barely reached my ears. But none of that mattered—because I was starving.

Instinct took over, and I did the only thing a newborn could do. I cried.

The moment my wails broke the silence, hurried footsteps echoed from the other side of the room. My father—his movements quick and frantic—was already rushing toward me. Even without seeing him yet, I could feel his presence, his desperate urgency.

It was a strange feeling—knowing someone truly cared.

The sound of hurried footsteps grew louder, and within seconds, my father burst into the room—wearing an apron.

For a moment, I forgot my hunger and just stared.

Yuma Nara, a man who had survived an elite ambush, infiltrated enemy lines, and lived as a spy in hostile territory—was standing in front of me covered in flour, wearing an apron that said 'World's Best Dad', with a wooden spoon still clutched in his hand. His face was filled with panic, eyes darting around as if looking for an enemy, only to realize it was just me… a crying baby.

"W-Wait, what do I do?" he muttered, tossing the spoon onto the kitchen counter and rushing over. He scooped me up in his arms, holding me awkwardly as if I were a particularly fragile scroll.

"Alright, alright, Akira, stop crying. Please?" he pleaded.

I did not.

His panic deepened. He started making faces—stretching his cheeks, puffing out his lips, even crossing his eyes in an attempt to entertain me. If I had the motor skills, I would've facepalmed. This was the great Yuma Nara? A trained shinobi?

I actually felt bad for him.

For a whole minute, he cycled through various ridiculous expressions, muttering things like, "Why isn't this working? Do babies not like funny faces?" and "I swear this worked on my nephew once..."

Finally, he froze a realization hitting him. His face slowly twisted into a look of profound stupidity.

"…He's hungry."

No shit.

Just as he began panicking over how to feed me—because apparently, figuring out that I was hungry was already too much mental strain for him—a knock came at the door.

Still cradling me awkwardly, my father shuffled over and pulled it open.

A woman stood there, dressed in standard kunoichi attire with the Nara clan symbol on her sleeve. She had long, dark hair tied back in a neat ponytail and a face that carried a mix of elegance and amusement. She was undeniably beautiful—though not as beautiful as my mother.

She took one look at my father—disheveled, covered in flour, still wearing that stupid apron—and giggled.

"The clan leader sent me to help take care of the baby," she said, still suppressing her laughter.

My father sighed in relief and immediately handed me over like I was an explosive tag about to go off. The woman expertly adjusted her hold on me and gave a knowing smile.

"First-time father, huh?"

Yuma groaned. "You have no idea."

With practiced ease, she carried me to another room, sat down, and began feeding me milk.

As I finally got my much-needed meal, I couldn't help but think—thank god someone competent showed up.

As the warm milk filled my mouth, I immediately felt my tiny body relax. The hunger that had been gnawing at me faded, replaced by a comforting warmth.

But then—a thought hit me.

This… this wasn't all that exciting. I mean, sure, the act of sucking milk was essential for survival, but in terms of experience? It was just drinking in the most primal form—nothing to be hyped about.

And yet—

I couldn't ignore the undeniable fact that the woman's chest was… well, huge. Bigger than most models I'd seen in my past life. Perfectly soft. Perky. And the way the milk flowed so smoothly—okay, wait.

I froze mid-thought.

What the hell am I thinking?!

I'm not a pervert! I'm a baby! This is basic biology, not some indecent fantasy! But at the same time, the experience was heavenly.

I mentally staggered, my tiny baby brain struggling to justify itself.

"This is nourishment, not pleasure! This is survival, not indulgence!"

And yet, deep inside, a tiny part of my mind whispered:

"Best meal of my life."

I desperately tried to shove that thought away. I was not going to become some weird reincarnated pervert who gets labeled a 'prodigy' just because he stares at big breasts all day.

With newfound shame and self-loathing, I continued drinking quietly, determined to think of anything else.

As I continued drinking, torn between shame and undeniable comfort, a sudden thought struck me—this experience was one of a kind. No way was I letting it slip away into the void of forgotten infancy.

'Nano,' I called out mentally, still latched onto the Nara woman, 'Save this moment. I want a special section for this sensation and scene.'

"Affirmative," Nano responded instantly. "Creating memory archive: 'Holy Nourishment Experience' – Sensory and emotional data stored for future reference."

I nearly choked. WHAT?! That was NOT what I meant to name it!

But it was too late. The damage was done.

I sighed internally, torn between mortification and the undeniable warmth of the situation. The Nara woman, seemingly sensing my tiny baby antics, smiled softly, watching me with amusement. Her gentle patience made it clear—she had experience with children. She wasn't rushing me, nor was she embarrassed.

A true motherly presence.

Once I had drunk my fill, she adjusted her hold on me, softly cradling me as my tiny body grew sluggish. My eyelids grew heavy, my infant biology overriding my reincarnated mind. Damn it… I was losing to sleep.

Just as I drifted off, I heard her and my father begin talking.

"Itsumi Nara," she introduced herself warmly. "Wife to a Nara Jonin and mother to a son born earlier this year. Clan Leader Shikaku assigned me to care for Akira until he can manage on his own."

My father, still recovering from his humiliating display of clueless parenting, let out a relieved sigh. "Thank you, Itsumi. I… clearly need the help."

She giggled softly. "I noticed."

And with that, sleep claimed me, the last thing in my mind is a mixture of comfort, warmth, and lingering shame.
