Rachel Foster did not ask Kingsly Scott to drive her home—Helen escorted her back. Helen had no idea what had transpired between her and Kingsly during their conversation in the office. Still, she sensed a subtle shift between them. In particular, when Kingsly walked her to the elevator, Helen saw him tenderly draping an arm around her and stealing a lingering peck on her lips.
"Mrs. Scott, please don't misunderstand," Helen began hesitantly, "Kingsly really doesn't have anything with Miss Mia Collins. Last night, when he went to see her, it was strictly about business. Nothing more happened if you spent the night in the same room."
Since Rachel married Kingsly Scott, Helen's admiration for her grew slowly. Even if she wasn't personally warm to her, loyalty to her boss compelled her to remain faithful.
Lost in her thoughts, Rachel blinked back to reality and nodded. "He already explained it to me."
