Rachel walked in from outside and found that he wasn't working. His deep, dark eyes were coldly fixed on her.
She couldn't control her nervousness and accelerated heartbeat in his face, but outwardly, she appeared nonchalant.
Kingsly leaned back in his chair, his posture leisurely and lazy as he spoke, "Are you used to staying here these past few days?"
Rachel looked at him calmly. "Whatever you want to say or want me to do, just get straight to the point."
Sure enough, her good days had come to an end.
Her tone with him was always one of disgust and aloofness.
"Very well... My executive assistant has taken a few months of marriage leave. I can't find a satisfactory candidate to replace her on short notice. Knowing that you previously worked as a secretary for William Franklin for two years and that being my executive assistant is similar to being Franklin's secretary, I'd like to have you fill in for her for a while.
"Can I refuse?"
"Why?"
"I need to take care of Jackson."
