Chapter 39 - The Hell Forest

''After thoroughly listening to Nakamura-sensei's detailed instructions, the students felt a strong sense of obligation to adhere to her guidance, especially if they were genuinely serious about impressing the upperclassman known as the S・A.

The first-year students sat in a hushed silence, their expressions brimming with anticipation as they eagerly awaited their sensei's thorough explanation of the complex battle rules. Their gazes remained fixed intently on the elevated area where Nakamura-sensei was passionately discussing the intricacies of the upcoming battle, her authoritative presence capturing their full attention.

"Do you really think they'll change the plan?" one curious student inquired of a nearby friend, his voice barely audible over the palpable tension in the air.

This question triggered a ripple of whispers among the group, as students leaned in closer to share their thoughts and theories about what might happen next.

"Ahh Ha! Do you really think they'll change the plan like that?" Ishikawa Nori, who was part of Ashito's team but often acted independently, muttered to himself as he observed the nearby students relaxing, hoping that their sensei would alter the strategy for facing the third-ranked Yuma.

"Like hell!" he muttered under his breath, lost in his own thoughts and completely oblivious to the fact that a student was quietly observing him from a distance.

"Do you really think so?" Jin inquired, throwing a quick glance toward Nori. Nori responded with a bright smile, especially when Nakamura-sensei announced that they would be going up against the third-ranked team, Yuma. The tension in the air shifted, excitement building as they prepared for the challenge ahead.

"Oh, Jin! It's been a long time since we last saw each other," Nori exclaimed, beaming with joy. Jin nodded slightly in acknowledgment of her enthusiasm and replied,

"I can hardly believe that we're running into each other here, of all places! By the way, how is Sei doing these days?" Nori quickly responded,

"Clearly, she's doing fine! But is it time to talk about her?" Jin grinned at Nori, looking confused.

"Hahaha, sorry! Sorry!" he laughed, then added, "Meet in the forest!" He quickly shifted his attention to Sensei.

"Okay! It's time now!" the dean said. Just as Nori thought, there was no way the plan could change that quickly, especially at Kyudai Genso, where everything was taken seriously by the students.

"Now! Start!"

With no time to complain, the students dashed toward the forest as soon as the dean finished speaking. As they ran, they focused on controlling their aura power, keeping it contained within their bodies and shielding the outside of their forms.

All of them wore confused expressions, but they knew there was no choice but to follow their Sensei's instructions. After they channeled their aura, they arrived at the forest and came to a stop at the gate once they entered.

"I sense a strong presence here," one student remarked, glancing around.

"Me too! It feels like they're watching us!" another replied, fear creeping onto their face.

"Are you scared?" a third interjected. "If you are, maybe you should quit school," he continued before running off into the forest.

''Ach.....''

Two of them watched as he ran into the forest, yet they didn't move. However, other students saw this and chased after him, splitting into different directions.

Almost thirty minutes had passed since every single student made their way into the depths of the forest, enjoying the thrill of their adventure. Suddenly, the tranquility was shattered by piercing screams that echoed through the trees:

"AHHHHHHH... Help me!" In a state of sheer panic, four of the students came rushing out from the Yuma, chasing them, their bodies smeared with blood and terror etched across their faces as they sprinted for their lives, desperately trying to escape whatever nightmare had unfolded behind them.

The Yuma, Orge type, they are holding the bat and chasing them while their hand is holding the head of a student.

''ARHHHHH,'' The orge type screaming like he's calling his friends.

Four of them were still sprinting desperately when they were suddenly blocked by a Yuma, a fearsome ogre-like creature that resembled the one pursuing them with relentless determination.

Realizing there was no possible way to escape this menacing figure, one of them took a moment to gather her thoughts and said with a bittersweet smile that hinted at both acceptance and sorrow,

"Farewell, my beloved family, my cherished academic." Her words hung in the air, filled with a profound sense of finality as they faced the daunting reality of their situation.

"AHhHHHHHHHH!,''

When she finished speaking, Yoma hit them with a giant bat in his hand several times, then they dragged the students' bodies to another place. But one of the students was not dead yet.

''Ahh..... help.... m... me!'' He said to his watch on his hand like he had contacted other people to come to help them.

''Ha... hah...., help... me!'' He continued talking to his watch when the Yuma noticed him, and one of them struck him again.

''Arch....!!''

''Hahaha.... I like this situation,'' One of the Yuma spoke up, '' I like the blood like this,'' He continued, laughing.

''We need to take to the shrine,''

The shrine of the Demon Yuma:The island is home to a dozen small demonic shrines in small caves and niches, and carved stone pillars.

They don't realize they are being watched by someone. The one watching them is none other than Sei, who stands on the branch of a large tree.

The student he contacted was Sei, so after this, she hurried towards him.

''Hah... What should I do now?'' Sei muttered to herself while perched on a branch of the large tree, her eyes fixed on Yuma.

''Arh...!!''

But suddenly Sei got surprised by another type of Yuma, the flying type.

''Got you!!''
