Marian's POV
His hand brushed through my hair in slow, deliberate strokes. "Marian," he sighed, his voice thick with something I couldn't quite place.
I tilted my head slightly, catching the faintest flicker of hesitation in his eyes. "What is it?"
His jaw tightened. "There's something else I need to tell you."
The tension in his voice made my stomach clench, but I forced myself to stay calm. "Okay. Tell me."
He hesitated for just a moment longer before speaking. "Amira's not the only one I have to deal with. Summer, too."
I blinked. "Summer?"
"She knew," he said, his tone edged with frustration. "She knew Amira was planning something. She didn't stop her."
I exhaled, closing my eyes briefly. Summer had always been Amira's shadow, always backing her up no matter what. It didn't surprise me that she hadn't interfered.
"I'll handle her," Aiden continued, his voice firm. "But I need to know if you want me to deal with her the same way as Amira."
