"Damn it! What are the police doing?! Shouldn't they be here already!?"
"Last time I called they said they'd be here as soon as they could. But I can't get through now. Every transmission I send gets dropped almost immediately."
Two security personnel from a company called Stortbui Chemicals were complaining about the lack of police assistance as they were pinned down by laser fire from a group of heavily armed terrorists.
They had put up a decent fight so far and prevented the criminals from breaching the building, but it was only a matter of time now before their defenses faltered.
Stortbui Chemicals' security simply was not equipped to deal with such a threat. Their job was to look out for thieves or detain the occasional irate customer or trespasser. Anything bigger was supposed to be a job for the colony police to handle. But with so many attacks occurring simultaneously, places that were holding out better or had fewer attackers were a lower priority.
