The moment the assassins rushed at Andrew, one of them went down, screaming in pain as electricity coursed through his body.
When Andrew sent Tarina to wait for them in the conference module, he instructed her to hide some tasers and his handgun under the table, just in case, and now one of the assassins got a taste of 50,000 volts, delivered courtesy of the diplomat.
The other five didn't even flinch as they attacked their main target.
However, they were shocked when their attacks were absorbed by the personal shield of the power armor.
Then another assassin fell to the floor, this time with a blade sticking from his chest.
As Andrew took the moment of their confusion to pierce one of the enemies with the long knife attached to the armor.
When another attacker tried to stab him, the human caught his hand and threw him like a doll onto the nearest wall.
The hit produced an audible cracking sound, and the body hit the floor, motionless.
When he turned back to face another opponent, he didn't need to do anything as the attacking alien simply went limp and fell to the floor after arching his body like he was stabbed in the back, which really was the case as Tanera threw a hidden dagger at the enemy, taking him out.
The only two assassins still standing were the ones with energy weapons, since they kept their distance.
However, this didn't save them for long, as their shots were absorbed by the armor's shield.
Andrew grabbed his gun from under the table and emptied the clip into the two of them.
When they fell, he took a look at the enemy he tossed onto the wall, who was now moaning in pain as his bones were broken, and he was barely able to move.
The human simply raised his armored foot and dropped it on the alien's head, crushing it like an egg and splattering the brown blood and brain matter all around him.
After the assassination attempt aimed at him, he was in no mood to spare his enemy.
-You two stay here and lock the door. I'll call for you when it's clear.
Andrew said as he rushed to catch the two merchants who had just tried to kill him.
-Lan, where are these bastards going?
He asked through the armor's communication system.
-If you are looking for some kind of strange arachnid and a skinny alien in a space suit, they are in the command center, and they are not going anywhere.
Lanarine responded.
As for their friends who disembarked from the ships, they had an encounter with the battle droids and are mostly dead now.
She added with satisfaction in her voice, which was strange as she hated violence, or at least she used to hate it.
-Good, are there any other ships comming in at the moment?
Andrew asked, worried about the potential reinforcements.
-No, but the unknown frigates just turned around and are leaving much faster than they were approaching.
She said, after looking at the sensor data.
This revelation surprised Andrew as he never suspected that these two groups were working together.
-Are there any other hostiles on the station or in the ships?
He asked, wanting to be sure they were in the clear before he started investigating what the hell had happened just now.
-There are none; if they are not dead, they are in our custody.
Lanarine confirmed.
-Good, order the droids to clean up the bodies and repair any damage to the station.
Andrew said as he turned around to get the two ladies he had left in the conference module.
A few minutes later, all three of them arrived at the command center only to see three ladies pointing their tasers at two handcuffed aliens on the floor.
-Tanera, can you explain this, and there better bee a good reason you took part in all of this.
Lan asked, with a less than amused voice.
-I'm sorry for all this, but when I learned of their true intentions, it was already too late to do anything other than try to warn you.
I was also supervised by these two bodyguards, who turned out to be assassins, so I could not even warn you directly.
Thankfully, you figured it out.
The elf merchant said, on the verge of tears.
She felt like a traitor for taking any part in this mess.
-What did they want exactly?
Andrew asked, hoping to shed some light on this case.
-They wanted to take over the shipyard and this system as a whole while eliminating you all at the same time.
That way you could not complain about being blacklisted, when the main suprewvisor of this galaxy arrives in two days, while they would gain a powerful station and the whole territory ina short time and with minimal losses on their side.
Tanera explained.
That's all I know, the details you would need to get from them.
-What was your part in all of this?
Lan asked.
-I was trying to find a way to reverse the blacklisting of you all.
My brother helped as much as he could, but he was summoned to the empire, and then the new rules were implemented, sending these bodyguards with every merchant.
Then, two days ago, these two approached me, claiming that there is a way to remove you from the black list, but they need to talk to you face to face, and there are conditions you will need to meet for it to happen.
I agreed to bring them here, hoping to solve this problem, but when we were under way, I overheard them talking on an open channel about their plan B if you refused to accept their conditions.
Knowing what was going on, I wanted to warn you, but these two started to watch me closely, so I had to resort to vague messages and hope that you would understand them.
The rest you already know.
Tanera finished the story.
-And she killed one of the assassins during our fight.
Tarina added.
-Thank you for trying to help, but please dont bring anyone here ever again.
I'm getting sick and tired of being attacked every time someone is accompanying you or your brother to visit us.
Andrew said, with a sad smile.
-It was never my intention to hurt any of you, and I'm sorry for causing trouble again.
The Elf answered sadly.
-Well, it's not your fault, but Andrew is right; try to avoid bringing anyone the next time you visit.
Nairin said jokingly.
-Alright, enough.
Andrew said.
-Let's wake these idiots up and get some more answers out of them.
He pointed at the two aliens on the floor.
-How do you want to do that?
They passed out after we teased them.
I don't think they will wake up any time soon.
-Leave that to me, but not here, I don't want to make a mess in the command center.
The human said with a villainous grin that made all the ladies shiver.
They all knew that angering him was a bad idea, and at the moment, he was most likely furious after an attempt on his life.
They all looked with pity at the two aliens, who would soon be begging for mercy.
Andrew dragged the two aliens out of the command center and brought them to an empty hangar as the fleet was still out, just in case there were more uninvited guests on their way.
All the ladies went with him except for Lanarine, who wanted no part in what was about to happen.
She still had nightmares about being trapped in her own body after Andrew punished her for a few days.
And that was simply for arguing and pissing him off.
She didn't wish to witness what he would do with guys who wanted to murder him and most likely them as well.
When they entered the hangar, Andrew tossed the unconscious aliens to the floor with a thud before he called in a droid.
-Bring me two containers of cold water.
He ordered, and soon two droids arrived, each carrying a ten-liter water container with cold water inside.
When he took off the helmet of the thin alien, he understood why he wore it all the time.
This alien stank to high heaven, making everyone around it want to puke.
-Pour the water onto these two.
Andrew ordered and the droids did as they were told.
Both aliens were woken up with a shock of cold water splashing all over their bodies.
-What's going on?
The spider-like Alien shouted, disoriented, looking around and trying to figure out where he was.
The other alien simply shouted like he was being burned with fire, but other than that, he was fine.
-What's going on is that you will tell me everything about your plans and what you did to try and accomplish them, or you will be begging me to kill you before this day ends.
Andrew said, with his voice as cold as a glacier and the look in his eyes no different than that of a predator that caught its prey and was about to finish it off.
Even the ladies were terrified seeing him like this, and they regretted coming there at that moment.
-I will tell you nothing, you hairless ape.
The spider-like alien shouted.
-Release us, or you will soon learn what cruelty is when my people arrive.
He threatened.
-If you are thinking about the frigates that were on their way here, they turned tail and ran the moment you failed to kill me and capture this station.
So there is no one coming to save you, and if you think I'm bluffing, then think again.
As soon as he ended that sentence, Andrew's armored fist crushed the end of one of the alien legs, making it scream in pain.
-Ladies, I think you should leave now.
You really don't want to see what's about to happen here.
Andrew said.
This time, they listened and left.
If what they saw till now was just a sample, they didn't want to know what it would be like once Andrew unleashed all his anger on the two aliens.
Seeing the ladies leave the hangar filled the two aliens with dread.
They were not stupid and understood immediately that the human was holding back because of the audience.
But there would be nothing holding him back now that they were gone.
Once the hangar doors closed behind the ladies, Andrew turned to the two aliens with a smile, which made both of them tremble in fear..
-Well, gentle beings, since the ladies left us alone, there is no more need to hold back is there?
Andrew said, with a calm and friendly smile, which somehow was way more terrifying than the savage one he had on his face earlier.
