A pair of abyss-like dark eyes looked up from the center of the crater at the noble vampire.
She seemed to be made of flames, with wings of fire blazing behind her.
But on her face was nothing but pure fear and terror, emotions she had never felt before in her entire life, as she stared back at the demon standing at the center of the massive crater created by the explosion, an explosion caused by her own attack.
And yet, unlike what she had expected, the demon remained completely unscathed.
He hadn't even moved an inch from where he was standing.
The only things her bloodline ability, the vampiric flames, had managed to burn were the ground beneath him, a few unfortunate plebeian vampires caught in the crossfire, and the clothes that had adorned the high demon.
"This… this is impossible… how… just how?" she stammered, confusion and disbelief mixing with the overwhelming terror.
She felt helpless, utterly helpless.
