After spending time with Ever at the hospital, Allesandro decided to take the kids to a hotel for the night. Ever needed rest, and he wanted to keep Isla and Leo comfortable while figuring out his next move.
The hotel suite was grand, with a spacious living room and two bedrooms. Leo was already curled up on the couch, half-asleep, but Isla, as expected, was wide awake, sitting on the bed with her arms crossed.
"You're not tired?" Allesandro asked, sitting beside her.
Isla shook her head. "Nope. You and Mommy were talking a lot at the hospital, but I didn't get to ask my question."
"Oh?" Allesandro smiled. "And what question is that?"
Isla kicked her legs playfully. "When are you and Mommy gonna have a baby brother for me and Leo?"
Allesandro blinked. "What?"
She pouted. "My friend at school said if mommies and daddies have another baby, they won't break up. And I don't want you and Mommy to be apart. So when will you have a baby brother for us?"
Silence filled the room.
