"Relia? Why isn't he healing?"
Evelina looked at the various vials and bowls on the table beside Damian's bed, feeling frustrated and worried.
The faint glow from some of the vials showed that the healer had tried everything to stabilise him, yet Damian remained unconscious. His pale skin and shallow breathing only made her feel more anxious.
"Relia," Evelina whispered, her voice trembling, "why isn't he healing? Shouldn't he be better by now?"
Relia sighed, her voice soft in Evelina's mind. "I don't know, Evie. Wolfsbane is a nasty thing, but he's stronger than most. He absorbed all of your pain and the poison. Maybe… maybe his body is just taking time."
"That's not good enough," Evelina murmured.
Her fingers traced the edge of one vial, trying to make sense of the healer's efforts. She felt helpless. None of the vials was labelled, and there was no clear way to know which had already been used.
