Diana shifted slightly in her sleep, a faint wince escaping her as something warm and wet dripped onto her face. A slow, creeping sensation of dread slithered through her as she reluctantly cracked her eyes open. Nothing. The dim glow of the TV bathed the room in an eerie light, flickering slightly. She rubbed her forehead and pulled her hand away. A dark red liquid smeared across her fingertips.
Blood.
A cold shiver ran down her spine as she sat up, her heart hammering against her ribs. She quickly glanced around. Chase and Aurora lay sound asleep beside her. The babies were nestled safely in their cribs, undisturbed.
