Xavier returned to the room just as Selene sent Agnes out. He noticed a paper in Agnes's hands which she held onto for dear life.
"Is Josephine settling in well? I'm afraid we might have left her side too fast after dinner," said Selene.
"My mother is going to bother Harold and you don't need to be at her side all the time. It isn't like someone died. It's also not certain her being away from my father will last long," Xavier replied, closing the door behind him.
"Why do you say that? She has taken this big step to come here so I think she might have moved on from him. I mean, if she doesn't I wouldn't be upset but being away from each other seems to be the direction it will head for now," Selene said, not seeing how it could change unless Nathaniel changed.
