"What should we get into first? I wouldn't mind having a drink or two and then doing some shopping after. I have plenty of money to spend and so much trouble I want to get into. You decide," Josephine left the decision to Selene.
Selene was stuck not knowing what to do. There was a sudden realisation that she would need to be the parent by watching Josephine carefully.
"I will do anything that doesn't have Xavier worried about the state I bring his mother home in. How about we walk around and do whatever catches our eyes? Maybe save the drinking for last or never," Selene suggested.
"Nonsense," Josephine laughed, patting Selene's leg. "A drink is always needed. Maybe you don't enjoy it because you didn't have the good ones. Come," she said, taking Selene's hand so they could exit the carriage together.
Selene looked to Lucas for him to rescue her. He had been in the carriage the entire time, sitting still like he was part of the carriage.
