The next day, Josephine arrived at the estate looking forward to her time with Selene. She couldn't remember the last day she had sat and held a proper conversation with Selene. She was in desperate need of a distraction from all the drama which she found herself in thanks to Nathaniel.
"Go away," Xavier said, attempting to close the front door.
Josephine placed her foot so the door wouldn't close. "Xavier Blackthorn, you stop this right now. Don't make me have to scream."
It was a small challenge between the two with one trying to close the door and the other trying to keep it open.
"I am not here to see you. I have come to see Selene. She already knew that I was coming so let me in. If she is sleeping, I will scream and wake her," Josephine threatened.
She had not come all this way just to return home.
Xavier let go of the door, allowing his mother to open it. "I know. I was only toying with you and buying her some time to get dressed. She is a little late."
