"If you are well-behaved, I might welcome you into the estate so you can see Agnes. As long as you don't distract her from caring for my wife, you are welcome," Xavier offered.
"No, no, no," Isaac declined the offer. He knew what Xavier was doing. "Don't think you can trap me like that. I was only having a small conversation with her so whatever plans you started, don't think about it.
"What plans?" Xavier asked, playing innocent. "If you assumed I would have you two be together then you are wrong. There is someone more suited for her than a man like you."
Isaac stopped walking and grabbed Xavier's arm. "What do you mean by a man like me? What is wrong with me?"
Isaac thought he made a wonderful match. He was kind and solved many of the deaths around the kingdom which meant he kept the town safe, he lived a quiet life which meant he might be a little busy but he was a good man.
"Don't make me say it," Xavier said, saving Isaac from hearing the harsh truth.
