Paige made her way outside to search for a way to get home. The servants were all busy trying to get out of the way so they wouldn't feel Lord Blackthorn's wrath and worrying about whether they would have a job tomorrow.

The sight of Trevor angered Paige. His mother could lie to her but not Trevor. He was meant to be honest as her husband.
"Why didn't you tell me of Lord Blackthorn's last visit? I am always honest with you and in return, I was blindsided by you and your mother. Now I question what the rest of your family said to me. I do not trust you well enough to continue to be your wife. The ring is inside so I suggest you move fast before they toss it out," Paige advised Trevor.
"What?" Trevor replied, confused as to why their marriage had come to this. "I didn't lie to you. I just didn't tell you because it meant nothing. My mother had me convinced that this was my home. It is easy for Lord Blackthorn to have forged his letter to please Selene."
