Chapter 90 - Shady Business; Last Part - Transition

"Why are you so sure of this rumour?" Kaia asked putting a hand on her own chin.

"Well, at that time, there was a senior of mine, she helped me through my studies and helped others too," Kiki recalled, Never knew how she got the time for all that. Kiki paused, thinking. "She was the one who told us that whole Incantation thing was a rumour in the first place. Even some of the professors believed that. People really thought that there was some hidden place within the Academy."

"What happened to her now? Got a job or something?"

"I-I..." Kiki murmured. "I don't know. I never heard of her again after our graduation. Basically, I never heard of her graduation either. She... she was kinda mysterious."

Kaia leaned back in her seat, her brain steaming out. "Her name?"

"Sesha Varneshka something? That was kinda difficult name to remember also because a lot of times, I called her senior only."

"What? Do you want everyone to have simple names like you?"

"Not my name again!" Kiki grumbled crossing her arms.

"So how should we approach this Academy, directly enter the premises as a Splinter or have a direct meeting with the President?"

"Won't that only get everyone's attention?"

"Well then, should I just take admission in it and infiltrate like a spy?"

"What are you grinning about? This isn't some movie! Be serious!"

"Yeah, Yeah...." Kaia went poker-faced. "Let's go with the spy idea as the Academy is our only... uh lead? Better than nothing at least." Kaia's face hardened.

For the first time, she is taking me seriously; this time, my revenge on you is delayed. The great almight, conqueror Kiki spared you. Otherwise, you would have been on your knees. Kiki proudly thought with a smirk visible on her face.

Looks like she lost her mind again. Kaia gave her a dirty look before proceeding. "The Grey Quartz man, Ira and that Master. If we find any one of them, then we will surely be able to find Kiaan. Besides us, I am sure Kyros and others would also try their best to search from these available clues. While they are at it, our investigation might not bring any result if we do the same thing. Apostle is efficient in its own way."

"Therefore, we would find information on 'Incantation Eclipse." Kiki joined her hands. Her eyes gleamed. "This is the only other lead related to us finding him. Not sure but this is a 'thing' not a human that we could find by machines, technology or magic. The only source is knowledge. If this thing gives powers, then surely this have to be registered somewhere."

"That's right. I will just get admission. Surely an alumni like you would get me there without any problem, right?"

"After that tea incident, I doubt. But I will, Zack. I would just tell him that there is a cousin of mine who wants to get in. Consider a disguise as Zack and the Chairman might know your face and name or maybe some people in the academy too, because you are an anomaly to this world."

"Anamoly? Just say I am pretty famous! Slayed." A pair of goggles appeared on her face out of nowhere, her surroundings started glowing. Kiki squinted her eyes turning away. Proud A#shole. A nerve popped from her neck as she glared at nowhere.

"Speaking of disguise." Kaia leaned to her side as she recalled. "Remember when Kiaan did that disguise that even Yona couldn't identify him."

"The gender change one, right? That one is a little bit tricky. Even mana users find it difficult to know whether the person has changed their genders or not if they never met you. Even if they knew something was wrong, only few would guess that the gender has changed."

"I will go with that disguise then. That would only change my face and the chest area, right?"

A smug widened on Kiki's face as if thinking something sinister.

"Right?" Kaia's nerves tensed. This is bad.

Kaia secretly shifted her hand behind her back, sliding the car's door handle, but it wouldn't open. Kaia went white as she turned around, trying to open the door as quickly as she could. Open the fuck up!

A sweat beaded from her face and her eyes widened as soon as she heard a damn chanting spell from the steer's seat. Her pace quickened to open the door as a white light, the light of heavens' flashed, she quinted her eyes shut by the blinding lights.

After a while, the light seems to disappear. Kiki opened her eyes faintly, "Looks like the magic wor-" Her jaw dropped, she gave him a once-over. Her color drained out of her face as she kept blinking.

"Ugh..." Kaia held his head, slowly opening his eyes. Would it hurt to wait at least? I needed to be prepared mentally—" He stopped, his eyelids drooping. "My voice? It..." Quickly, he turned around, and then his eyes caught up in the rearview mirror. Kaia gasped at the unfamiliar face. His hands touched his face, scanning in disbelief if it was real.

"No way I actually turned into a guy!" Kaia sighed, I didn't thought that Kiki was actually capable of doing transformation. Kaia sighed as he finally calmed down. He then turned and surveyed Kiki's gaping mouth. "Why are you so surprised, even then, me?" Kaia said, furrowing his forehead.

"This..." Kiki's face darkened, hands clenched. Kaia's eyes bored toward her. Suddenly, what happened to her?

Kiki jumped toward Kaia, grabbing his both shoulder as Kiki dangerously leaned in. "Why are you so fucking handsome?" Kiki pursed her lips. "WHY!?"

"Heh?" Kaia blinked and then put his hand on his forehead. What a headache. Kaia winced internally.

"This isn't fair at all! When finally I was going to get my revenge-" Kiki flapped her arms like a kid, annoying Kaia even more.

"Revenge?" Kaia glared.

"Nothing!" Kiki quickly covered her mouth.

"Whatever." Kaia rubbed the back of her head. "So I just need to enter the Academy."

Kiki suddenly took out her phone and dialled a number. The phone picked up from the other side. "Hello! Zack....I-I um need your help."

[Go on]

"You sound kinda sad. Were you crying?"

[No...sobs...]

Kaia watched with a completely poker face. No Judging, not at all!

"I-I needed my cousin to take admission in The Varyon Sorcery Academy. Can ya help me with that? I doubt that the chairman would let my cousin in after what I did."

[Consider....hic....done. Send your cousin by 4 at the Academy. I will do the talking.]

"Thanks, and take care."

[Yeah... you too.]

The call was cut off from the other side. Kaia leaned against the window as he gazed at her. The conversation between them was kinda sweet.

"Alright, you just need to go." Kiki's eyes narrowed.

"Meanwhile you will disguise as me and attend my university," Kaia said with a stern face.

"What?" Kiki's jaw dropped. "There is no way I could do that." Kiki waved her arms signing a cross dismissively.

"I already said no one would notice you, and what if that stalker suddenly wants to stalk me again? Therefore, you need to do this instead."

Kiki made a lot of disgusted faces she could think of but at last she agreed to it. "Fine," Kiki said clasping her hands together and locking into a philosopher's pose. "Anything else?"

"Who is Uriel?"

"Now now where did she come from?" Kiki paused and then continued. "She is the founder of the Mana-Openings detection bureau. By mana-openings, it is referred to the Halcyon's portals which appear in various parts of the world from which monsters of different levels get inside the overworld to collect food and mana for their Halcyon and themselves. The Bureau helps in detecting these portals and helping Apostles for clearing them. She has her own methods, which no one questions as long as she helps Apostle. The members of the bureau are also secret."

"Well, that explains a lot of things," Kaia said, giving her a dull look as his brows formed a straight line. The secret method might involve black magic and something else. By her methods she found the Luminara portal. Kaia sighed before she explained everything to Kiki like a tale, whatever happened back at the Luminara domain, her brothers and all the relating things.

"Oh, so that's how you saved her? Seems reasonable enough, you know what we could just provide all the clues today at the Conference of the World. I heard that Theo Varyon, Uriel and a jury from Ethereal Court are also coming for the meeting."

"I have a plan for that then," Kaia whispered to Kiki his whole plan.

"Sounds solid." Kiki gave a thumbs up. "I will leave now. And you hurry to the Academy, okay?" Kiki said slamming the door open and rushing away.

"Hey! At least tell me where the academy is-" Kaia sighed, but the figure had already disappeared from a distance. "No luck, she already escaped as if I would task her with more things to do. Slacker Phenyl Prankster!" Kaia cursed. Suddenly a message popped in his phone, location of the Academy. Kaia proceeded to drive the car toward there, as Kiki left the key inside.
