I remained in the same spot for a long time afterward. I stood there watching Zayn walk away, and when she disappeared into the darkness, I still didn't move an inch. Her words were resounding in my head, ringing shrilly over and over again like a faulty alarm clock.
Was she right? Did I truly still love her? Or was she only trying to mess with my head? Our time together had been long and intense, she had introduced me to so many things, both sexually and otherwise. I owed her a lot for the experiences she gave me, but does that mean that she perpetually had my heart in her hand? Would I never be able to love Lena the way I once loved Zayn?
I cursed under my breath as I turned. I didn't like this. This was the reason I didn't like reaching out to Zayn, she just had a way of messing with me. So far, she was the only one who seemed to possess that ability. Even Lena had yet to mess me up the way Zayn could so easily do.
