(CASEY'S POV)

As I bundled myself into the car, Jace was pointedly ignoring me. As usual, he had his phone in his hand and was scrolling idly through some websites, every now and then he would glance out the window and stare at my lawn. Anything at all not to look at me or have a discussion with me.
I shook my head with a sigh as I tossed my purse into the backseat and got behind the wheel. His coming before me into the car had been to get away from me, but then how was he going to fare considering we were going to spend the entire day together?
I said nothing as I keyed the engine, the car quietly came to life under us. Using the rearview and side mirrors, I pulled out of my driveway and then with a turn of gears drove out towards the big city.
"I don't know where Ethan lives," I said after a while. My voice echoed in the car, almost sounding as if I was all alone.
"Just keep driving, I'll give you directions as we go." He replied.
