Natsu and Yami has arrived in the place that Kazuko saw the boss as the both moved really fast with Yami backing him and running while Natsu catapulted them used his rope.
Yami noticed the broken door and said, "This should be a boss room, but it looks like someone already cleared it"
"Yeah, but we need to get to a place where we can hide so we would be able to battle the man as equals. If we do that, I'm sure we would be able to defeat that man since it's two against one" Natsu said as Yami subconsciously said, "It's impossible to defeat that man! I mean... Sorry..."
"I get it... I know how you feel, but it's not impossible to defeat him. Well... We might not be able to defeat him on our own, but at least we can hold up and try to carry him to where everyone is. If everyone works together, I'm sure we would be able to defeat him" Natsu said as Yami thought, "He has a point. If we can hold him off till we get to where Mr Gildart is, I'm sure he'll be in big trouble, plus, Mr Damian would also be there. There's no way he would win against those two"
"Did you think you could run away from me" the boss said which shocked them as he sent them flying.
They both landed separately as Natsu thought, "I can see some pillars in this place, plus, this is a very big field. If I can get to a place with more pillars than this, I should be able to make things hard for him while Yami tries to defeat him"
"There's no other way, I have to use the equipment Mr Damian gave me" Yami thought as he stood up and looked at the boss standing and smiling with his long blade on his shoulder.
During the trip to the stage 3 examination centre, Mister Damian approached Yami and had a conversation with him once he came out of the room Mitsuki and the rest where in.
"Hey Yami, do you mind, I would love to talk with you?"
"No sir. So what do you want to tell me?"
"Follow me" Mister Damian said as they both went to a hidden room below the deck.
"I noticed something about Natsu, and it looks like he's more better when fighting with a weapon. Normally, as an instructor, it's not my business if any of you survive or not. My job is to supervise everything and not to interfere, but here we are." Mister Damian said as he looked at Yami and saw a face of confusion which made him sigh as he continued speaking.
"What I'm trying to say is this, I'm taking a big risk helping the both of you out."
"But mister Damian, I still don't understand what's going on here, what do you mean by helping us out?" Yami said as Mister Damian then opened a hidden door.
Yami saw lots of weapons inside the room which made him shocked as Mr Damian took a very strong and thick rope that was made out of golden steel and two really sharp blade that was way more durable and stronger than the one he gave them earlier in the exams and gave it to Yami.
"Here, give this to Natsu, I'm sure he'll need it during the other exams"
"But sir..."
"I already know the risk I'm taking, I also want you to take something that you'll be able to use."
"Sir..."
"You guys aren't allowed to accept any medical treatment, which already puts you in a disadvantage than the rest! So to make up for that, I'm giving you guys weapons that would make battling easier. I know I'm not meant to do this but just take it, you'll..."
"Thank you sir!" Yami said as Mister Damian became shocked.
"I really appreciate what you're doing for us. I know that instructors can punish contestants, but they aren't allowed to assist them in any way. And yet you still decided to help us out, knowing full well that you can be punished severely for it. I really appreciate it a lot, thank you very much sir" Yami said as he bowed his head showing his gratitude which made Damian smile and reply, "It's nothing, just make sure you pass the exam, okay. I'm rooting for the both of you"
"Yeah" Yami said as he took the blade and put on his waist area and wrapped the rope on top of it.
"So what weapon are you going to take?"
"I don't know, but it should be something that will protect me and also amplify my speed and strength"
"I see, then I have the exact weapon for you"
"Really!"
"Yeah, are you surprised"
"Yes, I thought those kinda things are pretty hard to get"
"Well your right, they are really expensive, plus, most of them are hard to move around and even put on"
"So how am I meant to use that kind of thing in the exam when I didn't apply to use a weapon"
"I didn't say all of them are hard to move around"
"Huh!"
"Behold, meet my armor prototype" Damian said as he showed Natsu a fantasy circular disk.
The disk was golden in color and had a red button in the middle, with strange drawing on the golden part of it.
"What's that?"
"This is an armor disk, it's just a prototype so it's not really complete"
"Wow, that's really cool!"
"Not really, its still incomplete. Naturally it's meant to create an armor around the person using it, but the prototype traces the magic energy and materialize around it"
"I don't understand, isn't that what you want"
"Not really, it just means that someone else can use your armor while you materialize it"
"I'm confused right now"
"Currently it doesn't trace the magic energy imbued in it. No come to think of it, it does but the problem is this, it doesn't know how to materialize only on the person using it, it can also materialize on someone with similar energy or in contact with you which is problematic"
"I get your point"
"Yeah, but there's no use worrying about that, the red botten you see activates and deactivates the armor and that's also another problem. Once someone hits that part, it automatically turns into a disk, but I'm also working on that bug too"
"This disk sounds pretty amazing..."
"Yeah it does but this is just the prototype, the original one is going to be awesome"
"I know, and that's why I can't accept this. You have put too much work to invent this and you want me to use it"
"Come on Yami, if you're bothered if this is the only prototype, just know your wrong. I got lots of this things" Damian said as he showed him four others and continued, "Plus, I haven't really tested it before in actual combat so I'll love if someone does it for me. Yami, I want you to help me complete my project, I want you to tell me the disadvantages of the disk and the problems they have"
"But..."
"But nothing Yami, you're actually helping me improve my invention, besides anyone could help me do so but I wanted you to help me out. No I'll be honored if you help me test my invention, you can view this as you doing me a favor instead of the other way round"
Yami felt touched and agreed to help Damian out as both smiled making Yami to take his leave.
Currently, Yami looked at the boss as Natsu stood next to him and said, "I have a plan, just keep him busy for me"
"That's my line!" Yami said as Natsu looked at him and replied with a really weird but sarcastic tone, "Do you really have a plan... or are you just saying that?"
"I do have a plan!"
"I see, well put it on hold"
"What! Why...!"
"I'm sure you're plan would come in handy, but I feel like it should come immediately after mine"
"What makes you say that!"
"Just trust me, I'm sure you're plan is going to be effective but let me do mine first, immediately we execute mine, we'll execute yours, happy now!"
"Hell no! I can also come up with crazy plans you know, so why can't mine come first!"
"I didn't say yours can't but I want mine first and I'm sure you'll also agree with me once you know what it is, besides mine involves cornering him and I'm sure yours doesn't!"
"So what are you implying! My plan isn't good enough! You don't even know what it is yet!!!"
"Cut it out Yami, try to understand where I'm coming from!"
"Why are the both of them arguing in an enemies front, do they want to die that badly" the boss thought as he said, "Stop messing around and take this fight seriously, or I'll make sure I put you through hell before killing you!"
"But he's already doing that" Yami thought as Natsu looked at him and said, "Wait, your also not fighting seriously. Now I'm curious, how powerful are you?"
"What's he talking about, does he want us to get killed? That guy is already powerful as he is! If he becomes more powerful, it'll truly become impossible for us to defeat him" Yami thought as the guy laughed and said, "You're a pretty funny kid, you ain't even my match but yet you talk like you can beat me"
"But I can" Natsu said with a straight face as Yami and the boss became in shock, "Huh!"
"Your jocking right, he's way faster than us and let's not forget that he's holding back"
"I know, but that doesn't mean I can't beat him. To be sincere, I'll actually need him to fight us using his full power. That way, I'll be able to know how much power I should produce to avoid killing him" Natsu said still with a strength face as Yami became confused.
"Well if he can hold his own against powerful beast, I'm sure he can fight this guy. But defeating him is a whole different thing, is he really that strong?" Yami thought as the boss laughed and said, "I like you kid, even without any magic, you still think you can defeat me"
"Of course, if this is your full power. Although if you can pass my limit, I won't be able to defeat you"
"What a weird kid, but if a kid this powerful trust someone like this, that only means he has proven himself countless times before, therefore I don't think he's bluffing" the boss thought as he had a smirk showing his excitement.
"This guy approached us with the face of someone who was ready to kill us at any opportunity he had but now, he looks like he's enjoying fighting us" Yami thought as Natsu smiled and said, "Thanks a lot for buying me time, I really appreciate it"
"Huh" the both said in shock after hearing that as they thought, "What does he mean by that?"
The boss felt something heading towards him as he then caught an arrow, but as he caught it, the arrow exploded causing a smoke screen and before he could react, he felt another arrow heading towards him and dodged it as he thought, "Another one!"
"This boy isn't as week as I thought" The man thought as he landed.
He became surprised since he didn't see Natsu and Yami, "They disappeared! No they must have ran away. I should be really careful about that boy, he's really trickish. Now I understand why he said such a thing, he's going to be a problem if I don't keep my eyes on him" the boss thought as he looked around.
He then took a deep breath and ran towards them. As they were moving, he went beside them and said, "You guy's ain't that quick you know. It's pointless running away if I can easily catch up to you"
"Interesting, it took him a while but he covered the distance. Well... come to think of it, it didn't take too long" Natsu thought as he smirked.
The man went ahead of them shocking the both as they saw slash marks heading towards them.
Yami tried dodging them as Natsu tried supporting with his rope.
"It's time I got serious, time to die" the boss said as he smirked while they both stood panting.
