As Natsu lost consciousness, he had a little glimpse of his childhood, as the beast walked gently towards him.
Natsu was hiding behind the bushes as he watched a lady bug eating from a plant and jumped out to catch it.
"I did it! Now I have to show grandma" Natsu said in excitement as he smiled and went home.
"Grandma!" Natsu screams while running towards her as she worked on the garden.
His grandma stopped and smiled as Natsu ran towards her in excitement.
"Woah, what do we have here?" His grandma said as Natsu replied, "You won't believe this, I saw it eating from a flower and waited for the right time before catching it"
"That's incredible Natsu, you're just five but you're already learning how to hunt so quickly" she said as she squatted and scattered his hair, making Natsu to smile so joyfully.
"You can let the bug go now, let's finish with the farm and later go hunting for real" his grandma said as he freed it and began helping her.
Once they were done, his grandma let out a loud sigh and said, "We're finally done! Now I can go rest up with a hot bath"
Natsu walked towards his grandma, dragging her skinny jeans trouser as he gave her a glare look and said, "But grandma, you said we were going to go hunting once we're done"
"Doesn't he get tired, he's just a little boy but he's really energetic" his grandma thought as she looked at him emotionally and then squatted, as she tapped his head and said, "My son, you're really an amazing kid! I'm surprised with the things you're able to do"
"Why"
"I couldn't do the things you can do when I was like you, I mean your just five but yet, see all the things you're able to do"
"Really"
"Well yeah, although you're still small, you try to assist me with everything which makes me happy"
"But I'm not small, I'm a big boy already"
"No your not! Just because you can do so many things doesn't mean you're big, you're still ignorant and have a lot of things to learn"
Natsu frowned as he turned his head and said, "I'm not ignorant, I've learned everything that I can from you, plus, you always refuse to teach me some kinds of things"
"Hey, don't get mad! You have to understand, your still too young to know some kinds of things"
Natsu turned away again and said, "You keep treating me like a kid..."
"But you are!" His Grandma said as she tapped his head and said, "Don't get pissed off because of the way I treat you sometimes! You should understand that I care so much about you and want nothing bad to happen to you, you're my pride and joy, that's why I sometimes treat you like a kid"
"Really"
"Yes, although you're still very ignorant" his grandma said as Natsu's excited expression left and sadness came upon him.
"I won't lie to you, I'm also ignorant about some few things"
"Huh"
"Okay Natsu, let's see, do you currently know what kind of blade I use?"
"No, I've asked but you never tell me"
"Exactly, which means you're ignorant about the kind of blades I use" his grandma said as Natsu had a confused expression.
His grandma sighed as she said, "Fine, I'll give you a more practical example! Do we currently know what's happening inside WOBAP"
"No"
"This means we're ignorant to the changes in WOBAP right now. Hope you understand what I'm saying?"
"I understand, but doesn't that make you ignorant too?"
"It does, I don't know everything that's happening, plus, they're some things I which I knew but I don't. The only difference between me and you right now is that I got lots of experience and information about so many things than you do"
"That's kinda true" Natsu said as he refused to accept reality.
"His a stubborn kid, but yet I'm so proud of him" his grandma thought as she placed her hand on his shoulder and said, "You might be ignorant and naive for now, but that doesn't mean it would last forever. You'll learn so many things as you grow older but for now, please have fun and try to make friends"
Natsu was silent for a while as he took a deep breath and said, "Fine you win, so can we go hunting now?"
"We have to carry the fruits and vegetables we gathered inside before we can go hunting"
"Okay grandma" Natsu said as he assisted her with the work.
Natsu lived in a beautiful bungalow shaped house which had a chimney and was made out of wood and mud. The mud was shaped like a brick and was careful constructed as some part of the house had wooden structures.
When entering into the house, it had a hall way that was made out of wood, which led to the sitting room.
Although the house looked small from the outside, the inside was really spacious as you could see the dining and kitchen from the sitting room.
The sitting room also had some doors leading to other rooms. The furnitures were made out of wood and some where clothed with animal skin.
His grandma dropped the fruits and vegetables in the kitchen and opened one of the doors close to it.
That room had lots of equipment for hunting, fishing, farming and so on. His grandma took a rope she properly hanged and two small blade as she turned towards Natsu and said, "Okay Natsu, let's go hunting"
Natsu was shocked as he replied, "What happened to your long blade, I thought you love using that weapon"
"Well I do, but today I want to teach you something new" his grandma said as Natsu didn't ask anymore question and followed her outside.
After a while of walking Natsu asked his grandma, "So what were you going to teach me?"
"First of all, I want you to know that anything can be used as a weapon, no matter what it is"
"How's that possible, how can I use any thing as a weapon"
"Hmmmm, how should I explain it for you? Okay, do you think I can use a rope as a weapon?"
"No, it's impossible to use it as a weapon, I mean, you can't really hurt someone with it."
"Well some part of that is true but you're wrong."
"I'm listening."
His grandma let out a sigh as she said, "If I careful place this rope well I can use it as a weapon, a deadly one at that."
"Why do you say that?"
"If I use the rope very well, I would not just set an inescapable trap, I can also use it to kill lots of beast"
"Do you really mean it?"
"Of course I do, but I have a better way to make you understand" his grandma said as she threw the one of the blade towards the ground and carried him as she ran and jumped off a cliff.
Natsu was terrified as he screamed, "Are you crazy, we are both going to die"
As Natsu was lost in fear, his grandma was excited which picked Natsu's curiosity since he was looking for a way to survive.
"Why aren't you scared? If we don't do something we would both die!" Natsu said in fear as he then realized something.
"Wait, grandma won't just try to kill us like this! If we were really going to die, she would have had a different expression on her face, which means, she's already thought of a way to save us" Natsu thought as he used his eyes to examine her body.
"There!" Natsu thought as he saw a rope attached to his grandma's hand as the rope then stopped their fall.
"Hey, what was that for?" Natsu asked as his grandma replied with a very serious tone, "There's something I want you to know Natsu, everything around you can be used either as a weapon or as a tool to save or help someone"
Natsu looked at her and then noticed a little drop of blood rolling through her hands as he shouted, "You're bleeding!"
"That doesn't matter..."
"What are you saying, we have to treat it, come on..."
"Natsu! Would you just listen to me and stop worrying" his grandma said as Natsu looked at her and became silent as she continued, "I won't be with you forever you know, you're so young but yet you can do so many amazing things. I know you think you don't have any powers but I want you to know something, even if you're fighting the strongest beast on your own, you can survive and win if you know how to use your head, and with your experience and the right weapon, you can defeat or win any creature"
"Grandma, why are you saying this things, you're scaring me" Natsu said in a sober tone.
"My son, always remember that they're different ways to win an opponent. Having a rigid mindset might help you win some battles but not all, this also goes for weapons, you have to learn how to use different kinds of weapons to defeat different kinds of beast"
"But..."
"I know what you want to say but just because I use my katana all the time doesn't mean I can't use other weapons to fight"
Natsu was speechless which made them had a moment of silence as his grandma said, "Let's go back home, I'll explain more when we get there"
Natsu nodded his head as his grandma tried to climb up. As Natsu and his grandma were heading home, Natsu was still curious as he thought, "Anything can be used as a weapon, is that even possible?"
"I know that face kid, tell me, what are you thinking of?"
"Well you see, I don't really understand how anything can be used as a weapon, it still sounds crazy to me"
"Oh really"
"Yeah, I mean, I can't use a stick to kill a beast or even a leaf to fight" Natsu said as his grandma began to laugh which made him curious as he asked, "Why are you laughing?"
"Pardon me, but the instance you gave are weird but still possible"
"What!!! That's a lie, there's no way you can use those things to kill a beast"
"Well you see, if I have a stick or wooden branch with me, I would make sure I keep distance between the beast and I, plus I'll have to indure some brutal beating, but if I strategies well enough, I can use the stick to stab it's vitals which would definitely kill it"
Natsu jaws dropped as he was surprised, "Wow, that actually sounded easy, but I'm sure it's impossible to use a leaf and win"
His grandma laughed as she said, "For you maybe, but for me, it's very possible"
"How, no why?"
"Hmmmm, how should I put it? If we are talking about a normal leaf, it would be impossible for you to use it and kill the beast since it's not poisonous or sharp. But for me, well..., That would be easy since I can use my energy to strengthen it, and with my skills, I can easily kill a beast with that, although I wouldn't lie, it would take a lot of time if the creature is extremely powerful"
"Wow, that's amazing! I never knew you could turn anything into a weapon"
"That's why you're ignorant. You don't know much things, plus you lack experience and skills, but that won't last forever since I would teach you so many things" his grandma said as she used her legs to slightly hit Natsu, which made him frown his face.
His grandma smiled as she then shouted, "Come here!" And raised Natsu up as both laughed while she placed him on her shoulders and continued moving.
Once they arrived at home, Natsu's grandma made a sigh of relief as she said, "Home sweet home, so what are we going to eat Natsu"
Natsu ran and sat down on the sofa as his grandma went to the kitchen and wore her apron.
"I don't really know. What about steak?"
"Sorry kiddo, we forgot to hunt while we went out so we're currently out of meat. I guess I'll just cook your favorite vegetable source with a fruit salad" his grandma said as she took a knife and began cutting.
"Okay grandma" Natsu said as he swung his leg on the couch, "Hey grandma, I was wondering, why did you carry a rope with the tiny blades when we wanted to go hunting?"
"Nothing really, hey can you come help grandma in the kitchen"
"Okay" Natsu said as he went to her.
"Remember that I said anything can be used as a weapon right"
"Yeah"
"Good, cause I also want to tell you that a rope, wait, more like a string, can be perfectly used as a weapon of choice just like my blade"
"Really"
"Of course, although, the rope has to be really strong, thick and thin, that's why I prefer calling it a string than a rope"
Natsu was confused as he made it known to her through his expression.
"This is that I mean" his grandma said as she took of a rubber like material from her wrist and said, "Watch this"
She used the string to cut through a tomato which made him surprised as he thought, "It went through like a knife"
She also tied it round an apple and pulled it which made it split into two.
"Wow, that's pretty amazing!!!" Natsu said in excitement.
"Son, I want you to always remember this, if you want to win every battle, you'll have to be unpredictable. The reason is because, if your opponent knows nothing about the traps and weapons you have, they won't be able to easily defeat you, they would be really cautious of you but this would also increase your chances of winning, got it"
"Yeah"
"Good, cause no matter the beast you face, even though you have no chances of winning, I want you to remember everything I've taught and use it to win that fight no matter the cost"
As his grandma said that, Natsu immediately remembered the fight he was in and thought, "That's right, I need to win this, my grandma has taught me everything I need to survive, so loosing this battle isn't an option!!!"
Natsu opened his eyes and saw a large beam heading towards him as Yami shouted, "Get out of there, Natsu!!!"
