Hei Yao looked at the large barrel of spiritual spring water in front of him and smiled.
This little female was really adorably silly.
The spiritual spring water was helpful for recovery, but only to a certain extent.
"Lulu, it's actually not necessary. Earlier, Bai Di already gave me some of this spiritual spring water, and even used it to clean my wounds. The effect of this water on my recovery is limited," Hei Yao said, feeling warmth in his heart as he watched how concerned she was.
At the same time, he found her silliness quite cute.
She was truly a treasure.
Sometimes she was incredibly clever, and other times, a bit clueless, but always adorable!
"Alright then," Si Lu reluctantly put away the spiritual spring water.
It seemed it really was of limited use.
However, seeing that Hei Yao was in good spirits, she figured he should be able to move around in a few days. After all, she knew that male beastmen had impressive healing abilities.
"In that case, I have some fruit here. Would you like some? Oh, and I still have the dried shrimp you made for me," Si Lu offered again.
"I'll take a fruit," Hei Yao replied.
He figured if he didn't accept something, Si Lu would continue to worry.
So, he might as well eat something to put her at ease.
"Okay!" Si Lu quickly produced two bright red apples, handing one to Hei Yao and taking a bite out of the other herself.
The two exchanged smiles.
Two days passed in the blink of an eye.
During these two days, Si Lu and Hei Yao rested inside the tree hollow.
Hei Yao's wounds had slowly begun to heal, and he was now able to move around.
Though his injuries no longer tore at the wound, any large movements would still cause discomfort.
So, for the past two days, Si Lu insisted that Hei Yao continue resting and not go outside. Naturally, Cheng Mo and the others took care of hunting, even bringing Hei Yao a whole wild boar.
When it came time to eat, Hei Yao transformed into a large black snake and devoured it in one gulp!
However, Si Lu didn't witness this scene. The others were worried she might be frightened if she saw it. Even though her emotions appeared calm, there was still an undercurrent of instability.
Each time Hei Yao ate, they would find a reason to pull Si Lu aside.
Si Lu understood this and cooperated with their efforts to protect her. She wasn't sure she could handle seeing something like that, so for safety's sake, she stayed away.
Bai Di led Si Lu to a spot near some bamboo pillars. As soon as she arrived, she saw that the bamboo house was nearly complete.
The bamboo house had two levels. The upper floor could be used for resting, and the lower floor could also be used for sleeping. The bottom portion was built on a bamboo raft, with the front half open to the air and the back half enclosed. It was quite an impressive sight.
Although it wasn't on par with the houses in her world, it was still amazing to see such a structure in the beastmen's world.
"What do you think?" Bai Di asked expectantly.
Of course, although he hadn't contributed much, he was still proud of the bamboo house.
It was simply fantastic.
Who would have thought that they could actually build something like this?
There was nothing like it in this world, and it was all thanks to the little female.
"It's amazing! Even better than I imagined. You all did such an incredible job," Si Lu said excitedly as she gazed at the bamboo house.
"As long as you're not disappointed," Cheng Mo said with a smile, still busy working.
"Of course not! This is the best bamboo house I've ever seen," Si Lu laughed as she watched Cheng Mo atop the house.
He was busy laying animal hides on the roof so that the bamboo wouldn't get soaked through when it rained.
"The bamboo house will be finished soon. Once we secure the hides and fix everything in place, we should be able to continue our journey to the coast by tomorrow," Cheng Mo said with anticipation.
He was really looking forward to it.
With the bamboo house, they could travel both day and night, with just one person standing guard. This arrangement was much easier than before.
Not only that, but they could reach the coast much sooner.
This would make things much safer for Si Lu when it came time for her to give birth.
Cheng Mo's previous worries were now cut in half.
"That's fantastic!" Si Lu exclaimed, thrilled.
"When the time comes, I can help stand guard too," Nans said, chopping bamboo while smiling at Si Lu.
His boyish face was lit up with a bright smile.
He had been working hard, trying to be useful, fearing that Si Lu might dislike him.
Nans believed that as long as he continued to work hard, he would earn Si Lu's approval.
Si Lu looked at Nans, who was smiling not far away, and was a little surprised.
His long pink hair was tied back with a vine, making it easier for him to work.
As she watched him laboring seriously, his determined gaze touched her heart.
This guy was truly diligent.
"Lulu, don't look at that guy. Look over there at the big tiger. He's been quite well-behaved these past few days," Bai Di said quietly, glancing at Si Lu.
If she was going to look at the rabbit, she might as well look at the hardworking tiger.
At that moment, Song Zhan was dragging a large bundle of bamboo toward them.
He was incredibly strong. Despite his orange fur being a bit disheveled, it didn't diminish his regal aura.
"Lulu, you're here!" Song Zhan grinned widely when he saw Si Lu.
He quickly hauled the bamboo to the side of the bamboo house, then flashed a silly grin.
He approached Si Lu and rubbed his big furry head against her arm.
"Oh my, A Zhan, you've worked so hard!" Si Lu wrapped her arms around Song Zhan's furry head, giving it a thorough rub, enjoying it immensely.
Rubbing the big tiger's head brought her immense relaxation.
It was similar to how people who loved petting cats found it soothing and mood-lifting.
Of course, people who didn't appreciate furry creatures wouldn't understand the feeling.
"Hehe, not hard at all!" the big tiger grinned widely, his voice slightly muffled as Si Lu continued rubbing his head.
But Song Zhan was content, letting out a purring sound as he thoroughly enjoyed Si Lu's touch.
He loved it when she rubbed his fur.
He loved every moment of it.
"Lulu, you can rub the fox's head too. It's very nice to pet," Bai Di, standing nearby, said with a touch of envy.
He, too, wanted to have his head rubbed by Si Lu.
Every time he saw such a scene, he couldn't help but feel jealous.
Of course, Si Lu did occasionally pet him too.
But it wasn't enough.
"Alright, next time I'll give your little head a rub," Si Lu laughed.
"Yes, yes!" Bai Di's eyes sparkled with excitement.
