Cherreads

Chapter 98 - Chapter 98

"Mm, it's delicious. This dried shrimp is so chewy. I didn't expect shrimp could be eaten like this, with no fishy smell at all. Who came up with this method?" Nans exclaimed in surprise as he ate a dried shrimp.

He found that this dried shrimp tasted amazing.

In the past, he had eaten shrimp too, but not prepared like this. After trying it, he had been disappointed because it was too fishy and not tasty at all.

Of course, it wasn't just him. Many other orcs had tried it too, only to give up in the end.

But this drying method was really something! As he ate the shrimp, he found the taste fresh and savory, without the fishy stench and without that unpleasant gritty texture.

Looking closely, he noticed a scratch along the back of the shrimp, as if something had been removed from it.

He recalled that previously, there was a black line running down the back of the shrimp, but now it was gone.

Could it be that the black line...

So, this is how shrimp should be eaten! "The method was thought up by me, but it was my beastmen husbands who prepared it," Silu said with a smile.

Of course.

This shrimp preparation method wasn't something she invented—it existed originally. But this was a world of orcs, and they didn't know about it!

So, she had to say she thought of it, or else she would have to explain a lot.

She just said she came up with it. That way, no one would suspect.

After all, it was just something she had figured out.

In reality, though, it was indeed her beastmen husbands who did all the work.

They wouldn't let her do anything. Whether it was preparing food or anything else, they wouldn't let her help at all.

In their words, all she needed to do was eat and, of course, give orders.

Upon hearing Nans' words, both Baiti and Heiyao glanced at the rabbit with a bit of a dark expression.

This rabbit was really bold.

To dare speak like that in front of them.

Looking at Silu, it seemed like she hadn't picked up on the hidden meaning behind Nans' words. But then again, their little female didn't understand the minds of male orcs.

Of course, if Silu was willing to accept him, it would be fine. But if she didn't accept and the rabbit continued to pester her, then they wouldn't be polite anymore.

'By the way, what's your name, Rabbit?' Silu asked the pink rabbit in front of her.

She didn't even know his name yet.

It wouldn't be polite to keep calling him 'Rabbit, Rabbit' all the time.

"I'm Nans, as you can see, a rabbit tribe member," Nans replied.

He continued eating the dried shrimp, his heart feeling sweet.

After all, the little female had given him this.

And it was even one of the little female's favorite foods.

Normally, little females wouldn't share their favorite food with others, not even their own beastmen husbands. Let alone a stranger like him, a male beastman.

So, he felt that Silu had some interest in him.

Otherwise, she wouldn't be paying him any attention.

"Nans, what a beautiful name. And you, this pink rabbit, are quite adorable too," Silu complimented generously.

Indeed, she found him very cute.

The name suited him well.

"Really? Do you like cute rabbits?" Nans' eyes sparkled with excitement.

His whole body, in his rabbit form, began to tremble with joy.

The little female was praising him!

How could Nans not be excited?

Did this mean he had a chance?

Of course, he couldn't help but ask the question he had been dying to know. Not just Nans—Baiti and Heiyao both paid close attention as well, eager to hear Silu's attitude.

"Well, who doesn't like cute rabbits?" Silu said with a laugh.

Indeed.

Rabbits are adorable creatures. Who wouldn't like them?

Especially a unique pink-eared rabbit like him.

He was certainly a special existence.

Baiti and Heiyao exchanged a look, their expressions a bit puzzled yet somewhat understanding.

It seemed that she liked cute rabbits, but she hadn't specifically said she liked this particular rabbit.

What kind of answer was that?

The big tiger sighed helplessly, not understanding.

Liking someone is liking them; not liking them is not liking them.

Silu's answer made no sense to him.

But Baiti and Heiyao understood a bit.

At the front, Cheng Mo heard their conversation but paid it no mind. He was focused on clearing the obstacles ahead and making a path.

For him, he would be happy if Silu chose some powerful and unique beastmen to be her husbands.

Of course, he had noticed that while this rabbit wasn't very large, he did have decent talent.

He was of the blue rank, and if he drank Silu's spiritual spring water, he could easily rise to the purple rank.

If Silu really accepted him, their family would have three purple-ranked beastmen.

That would offer even better protection for Silu.

Even though he was a rabbit who wasn't strong in battle, his innate talent and strength were undeniable.

Therefore, Cheng Mo remained silent and let Silu make her own choice.

And he had to admit, the rabbit's human form wasn't bad. It fit Silu's aesthetic preferences.

A handsome beastman, and Silu seemed to like his rabbit form as well. There was a good chance she might accept him.

He wondered whether the rabbit had an elemental talent.

He thought it would be best to ask about that later.

If he did, that would be ideal.

If not, it would be up to the little female to decide.

Undeniably, Cheng Mo had already seen the situation clearly.

As they traveled, Heiyao and Baiti both became increasingly quiet.

Their gazes flickered back and forth between Silu and Nans.

But neither said a word.

Silu, on the other hand, began to feel a bit sleepy.

She rested on Heiyao's back and soon drifted off to sleep.

She hugged Heiyao's neck tightly, and Heiyao walked steadily. Once she fell asleep, he walked even more carefully.

The group traveled until the sun began to set, finally finding a place to rest.

When Silu woke up, she found herself lying in a tree hollow. Not far away, a pink rabbit lay quietly, watching her.

"You're awake. Heiyao, Song Zhan, and Cheng Mo have gone hunting, and Baiti is outside preparing food," Nans said with delight when he saw her wake up.

He had already learned the names of Silu's husbands.

Of course, he had heard them from Baiti.

After they stopped, Silu had fallen asleep in the cave, and he had been by her side, watching her quietly, not daring to blink.

She was truly beautiful.

The more he looked, the more he liked her!
