Cherreads

Chapter 66 - Chapter 66

The sky had completely darkened.

Si Lu sat beside the campfire, roasting it, with Bai Di beside him.

He was busy with the roasted meat while a large pot of meat soup was simmering on the stone stove.

"Do you think they'll be back soon?" Si Lu asked, a bit worried.

His brow furrowed slightly.

"They're back. I can hear them," Bai Di said, gripping Si Lu's hand.

"That's good. Why haven't I seen them yet?" Si Lu sighed in relief after hearing Bai Di's words.

Ah, her eyesight just isn't good.

When it gets dark, she can't see well.

Of course, if there's moonlight, stars, or some light, it would be better, but without any of those, it's really hard to see.

The light from the campfire didn't reach very far.

"Don't worry," Bai Di comforted him.

He took out some animal skin and draped it over Si Lu's shoulders.

It was getting a bit chilly at night.

Just then, Si Lu noticed two brownish glowing dots in the distance. She immediately recognized them—those were the eyes of the big tiger!

This guy is so considerate.

He knew she couldn't see at night, so he used his glowing eyes to help her locate them.

Of course, after Song Zhan did that, Hei Yao's eyes also lit up briefly, followed by Cheng Mo's, but only Song Zhan's stayed lit and kept glowing as he walked closer to Si Lu.

Si Lu chuckled as she looked at them. They were all so adorable.

Their eyes lighting up, one after another, looked beautiful, like glowing gems in the dark.

"Alright, your eyes are still glowing. It's a bit too bright," Si Lu said, walking over to the big tiger.

She smiled and patted the big tiger's head.

Seeing them work so hard made her heart ache a little.

She then took out a few big fruits from her space—apples and pears. She had picked a lot.

After all, she could pick fruits from her space's farm whenever she wanted. They would always stay ripe on the tree as long as they were ready, never going bad.

Wait, the plants she had thrown into the space before were gone.

Si Lu also noticed that the farm had expanded, and there was a lot more vegetation—there were chili peppers, wheat, tomatoes, cauliflower, and many more vegetables!

Amazing!

Not only that, but there were two fruit trees—one cherry tree and one jujube tree.

Wow, she loved both!

In the future, she would have both fruits and vegetables.

It was really worth it!

The cherry tree and jujube tree still had a long way to grow, though; they were only flowering now.

But the vegetables were mostly ready to eat.

Si Lu was thrilled.

She also took some lettuce from the farm. Of course, she used spring water to wash it, and the used water was poured back into the farm, a sort of recycling.

"Here are some fruits for you. Just take whichever you want; they're all delicious. This is lettuce I picked; we can wrap the roasted meat in it later—it's really tasty!" Si Lu said with a smile.

Hei Yao just glanced at Si Lu but didn't speak.

He instinctively thought of spatial technology, and since he already knew about it, he didn't make a big deal out of it.

He took an apple and began eating.

The next second, Hei Yao's eyes instantly brightened.

This fruit was so delicious.

Better than any fruit he'd had before.

And this red fruit—he'd never seen anything like it.

What's it called?

While Hei Yao was amazed, Song Zhan and Cheng Mo remained calm.

Bai Di also took an apple, while Cheng Mo held a pear.

"What is this fruit? It's so delicious! After eating it, I feel this warm sensation spreading through me. It's so comforting!" Hei Yao, said.

It's really amazing. This fruit is so magical!

"Yes, it looks great," Bai Di nodded and agreed.

"It's called an apple, symbolizing peace. I forgot to take it out earlier, but I just remembered. Don't worry, I have plenty of them. Hehe, eat up! It's really good for your health!" Si Lu laughed.

She also had spring water, after all.

They were all family, so there was no need to hide things from them. Besides, if they became stronger, it would make her safer too, right?

"Wait until you finish the meal, and I'll tell you about the good stuff!" Si Lu said with a smile.

Cheng Mo seemed to understand.

He knew what Si Lu would take out next.

He and Song Zhan had used it before, so even if they drank it again, it wouldn't have much effect on them.

But for Bai Di and Hei Yao, it would be a huge benefit.

Plus, they would be heading to the seaside tomorrow, and the journey would be dangerous. Gaining some extra strength would definitely help.

"What good stuff?" Song Zhan asked curiously.

He was really curious.

Bai Di and Hei Yao also looked at Si Lu.

"Naturally, I'll tell you after we eat," Si Lu rolled her eyes.

The group laughed.

Hei Yao, Song Zhan, and Cheng Mo put their things down and sat by the fire, roasting their meat, while a pot of soup simmered nearby.

Si Lu stood up, putting everything away in her space. Though her space wasn't full, it already had so much stuff.

How much longer would they eat all of this?

There was just so much—she looked at the meat piles, which were like two small mountains, and the large collection of herbs, all neatly organized.

So much food—it really gave her a sense of satisfaction.

All thanks to the hard work of her beast husbands.

After finishing that, she stepped out of her space and returned to the campfire.

"Here, have some soup; the meat soup's ready," Bai Di offered, serving Si Lu some.

"Mm, you all should have some soup too. It's getting chilly. It'll warm you up," Si Lu said, looking at Hei Yao, Cheng Mo, and the others.

It was true.

Even though their powers were stronger than hers and they could withstand the cold better, it was still getting colder at night. Drinking something warm would help.

"Mm, we'll drink it," Cheng Mo nodded.

They all obediently drank the soup.

The little female said so, so that was that.

"Bai Di, I can drink on my own; you have some too. It's cold tonight; drink some to warm up," Si Lu said, looking at Bai Di with concern.

They had all been so attentive to her, but they had forgotten to take care of themselves.

It made her feel really bad.

"Mm, I'll feed you first, then I'll drink. There's plenty in the pot, no rush," Bai Di smiled.

Being cared for by his little female made him really happy.

But at this moment, taking care of his beloved female was the most important thing.

As for whether he drank or not—it wasn't that important. What mattered was that his little female drank first.

"Mm, remember to drink, okay?" Si Lu urged.

"Mm," Bai Di nodded, obediently listening.

After Si Lu drank two bowls of soup, she began eating the roasted meat. Of course, she had Hei Yao wrap the roasted meat in the lettuce leaves, and she happily started eating.
