"I see…"
King Gray muttered with a light of realization in his eyes. It had been more than half an hour after the king woke up. His wife recounted everything that happened after he passed out.
'Caleb Zane, huh…' The king mused. 'To think he was the same person who crippled the Baron.' If he had pushed for that man to be killed, he might never see Celine this happy.
He looked down on his daughter who remained in his embrace while he and his wife talked. The innocence in Celine's eyes still brought a smile to his face; he couldn't get enough of seeing his baby girl happy.
'Then again, if I killed him, none of this would have been happening.' He looked out the window. 'The city is still a mess, and a lot of people have died as a result.'
Did he regret putting that restricting law on the nobles? Damn no. He would do it again in a heartbeat.
Besides, the nobles were getting out of hand; he would have done something sooner or later regardless. He turned to face his wife once more.
