Not only alive, but completely unscathed—or so it seems. Not a single drop of blood stains her body, and I can see it clearly, even from here.
My doubts turn to certainty as I watch her struggle to her feet and start climbing the crater wall with visible difficulty.
The sight before us freezes Rebecca and me in terror. Her skin is completely burned, peeling off like dried plaster, and underneath, instead of muscles... gleaming metal. But that's not all; her movements are stiff and mechanical, jerky and sudden, almost like... a robot.
