Chapter 155 - Chapter 155: Ding Yumian’s Identity?(Bonus)

After being shut out, Lu Jun simply shook his head, unfazed.

He didn't care about the twin sisters' attitude. With Psychic Magic, he had already scanned Nie Dong's vampire family lair down to its very foundations.

As expected, their base was not far from here, located in an entertainment venue called "Northern Club".

Coincidentally, based on the police files he had accessed, there were no reports of missing women in the area surrounding Northern Club.

This, in itself, was revealing a rabbit doesn't eat the grass near its own burrow. It was a subconscious act of caution.

The real reason Lu Jun came to see the sisters was simple he was just being kind and offering protection while he was at it.

Afterward, he temporarily left their home and hid nearby to observe from a distance.

Meanwhile, inside the house, the twin sisters were having an argument.

Liu Ru was kind-hearted, but she wasn't naïve. From Lu Jun's questioning and his Hunter Alliance identity, she had already begun to suspect her sister's boyfriend, Nie Dong.

On top of that, her sister's recent behavior had been too strange sneaking out every night. She had seen Nie Dong before, and her instincts told her there was something wrong with him he was cold, eerie, and most importantly…

Liu Ru couldn't hold back anymore. "Sis! Do you even realize that your boyfriend keeps staring at me with a weird look every day?"

"This…" Liu Xian was momentarily stunned and hesitated. "Dong-ge probably didn't mean anything by it."

"Oh, really?"

"Ugh!" Liu Xian waved her hand impatiently. "Just stay out of it! I'll go talk to Dong-ge myself and ask why a Hunter Alliance mage suddenly came looking for him."

Hearing this, Liu Ru let out a frustrated sigh.

Outside, Lu Jun's transparent eyes glowed faintly, and beneath his feet, a star pattern rippled outward like a water wave.

Like a God's-eye view, their entire conversation was reflected in his mind.

He was deep in thought. If Nie Dong came here, he could simply wait in ambush and capture him.

But vampires were extremely proficient in Shadow Magic, to the point where even Mo Fan, a Shadow Mage, had failed to notice them moving right under his nose. That was how Liu Ru had ended up falling victim in the original timeline.

That feeling of powerlessness was a testament to just how terrifying the Blood Tribe truly was.

Luckily, Lu Jun's Psychic Magic allowed him to scan the surroundings, ensuring he could pinpoint his target.

Just as he was about to settle in for a long wait, his communication device suddenly rang.

Seeing that it was his sister, Lu Mei, calling, he raised an eyebrow. The night was still young, so he answered.

To his surprise, the voice on the other end was gentle and serene Ding Yumian.

"Hello, Lu Jun? Are you looking for information about vampires?"

Lu Jun's mind couldn't help but drift back.

While sifting through memories, he had uncovered several suspicious clues about the vampire case, all of which subtly pointed toward Ding Yumian.

First, in a conversation among Nie Dong's vampire elders, they had mentioned a certain "sister" of Nie Dong in Pearl Academy, someone of high status, warning him not to lay a finger on her.

Second, when Mo Fan was searching for information on the Blood Tribe, he had visited the library and just happened to run into Ding Yumian. She was deeply knowledgeable about vampire-related books and, coincidentally, specialized in Shadow Magic and Psychic Magic.

Putting these clues together, it almost felt like Ding Yumian was a vampire.

However, in this lifetime, Lu Jun had spent a lot of time around her, developing a deep, almost soul-level understanding of her. He could guarantee that Ding Yumian was a living human she had nothing to do with the Blood Tribe, undead, or any inhuman beings.

His true curiosity lay elsewhere how had a vampire family managed to infiltrate Magic City, a city protected by Forbidden Curse Mages?

Choosing to trust her, Lu Jun asked directly, "I'm on a Hunter mission. My investigation shows that you seem to have connections with vampires."

"Hmm~ I didn't expect you to dig this deep." Ding Yumian sounded surprised. After a brief pause, her calm voice continued, "I was targeted by a vampire family. Originally, I wanted to get rid of the one followingHmm Nie Dong."

"But then I detected a Commander-level presence behind him. So, I used Psychic Magic to distort their perception, making them believe that I had already completed the 'Blood Diagram Ritual' and was one of their own."

"After that, I hid inside Pearl Academy and ignored them. Since their memories were altered, over time, they would subconsciously overlook me. When they spoke about me, they would only remember that 'Pearl Academy had a female family member' instead."

"They even started filling in their own explanations for my unusual behavior why I never showed up? They assumed I was pampered by my elders or assigned to some special mission in Pearl Academy."

Lu Jun was shocked. He ignored everything else and immediately asked with concern, "You said you were targeted by vampires? When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Well, when you walk in the dark for too long, it's normal to run into ghosts. The underworld of Magic City is no joke many monsters and demons specifically prey on women and children."

Ding Yumian let out a soft humph, her tone unreadable. "It was half a year ago. Back then, you were still out training. When you came back, you went straight into seclusion for six months. Tell me, when was I supposed to bring it up?!"

Ah, damn…

Lu Jun realized he was in the wrong. He scratched his head awkwardly, but at least the misunderstanding and his doubts were cleared up.

Yet, the more he thought about it, the angrier he got.

These disgusting vampires had dared to target someone so close to him.

At first, he had simply planned to do a good deed and make some money. But now, he just wanted to rip this vampire clan apart.

After all, while Ding Yumian could alter memories, it wasn't to the extent that she could rewrite the minds of powerful individuals at will.

There was only one explanation the Blood Tribe had tried to invade her mind and control her, but their magic had been reversed and backfired on them.

He didn't even want to imagine what would have happened if Ding Yumian had been just an ordinary mage.

Lu Jun responded, "I'll take care of this threat for you once and for all."

Hearing the suppressed killing intent beneath his calm tone, Ding Yumian felt a warmth in her heart. However, she quickly warned, "Don't go alone. Wait for me and Lu Mei. A Commander-level isn't easy to deal with."

Otherwise, she wouldn't have backed down back then, despite being a High-Level Psychic Mage with the Calamity Survivor talent. Psychic Magic lacked direct offensive power, making it hard to fight against a Commander-level creature.

Moreover, the Nie Clan was only one small branch of the Blood Tribe hiding in Magic City. If they alerted other vampire clans, multiple Commander-level enemies could attack at once even Super Mages would struggle.

"Fine, I'll wait for you both."

Lu Jun ended the call, and the three of them arranged a meeting place.

He fell into deep thought no wonder the Judgment Court struggled against these creatures hidden in the shadows.

Even in the original timeline, it was mentioned that these monsters were deeply rooted in the darkness, almost impossible to expose.

More importantly, they had nothing to lose, whereas human society had too much to protect.

"Looks like I need to come up with a foolproof plan."

Lu Jun rubbed his chin, now seriously considering hunting down a Commander-level Blood Tribe Count.

With greater strength came greater ambition hunting a Commander-level vampire would be extremely profitable, easily rivaling a high-level mission reward.

He remained hidden near Liu Ru and Liu Xian, watching as nightfall descended.

Suddenly, as the cold night breeze mingled with the city's residual heat, a thin mist began to rise.

It swirled gently through the streets, shrouding the area in an eerie tranquility.
