Nuon's soul fell into a vast expanse of light.
He could see nothing and could only feel himself standing.
Nuon was unclear whether he was still alive or already dead.
The light made him feel warmth deep within his soul.
Suddenly, inexplicably, Nuon felt...
God standing before him.
He heard God ask,
"Nuon, who am I?"
Nuon could not look directly at Him with his mortal eyes, but the trembling of his faith dominated his body and mind.
"Lord, people say you are the Lord of all creation, the God who saves the world..."
Nuon said softly, his hands pressed together in prayer before God.
"Nuon, who do you think I am?"
God asked again.
Nuon raised his face.
Was his response not satisfactory to God?
After some contemplation, Nuon spoke again,
"Lord, you are my God, you are my faith..."
Before he finished speaking, God asked again,
"Nuon, who do you think I am?"
Nuon was startled, his hands involuntarily trembling.
