Chapter 36 - Chapter 35: Loguetown

They were all celebrating the fact that they would finally embark on their journey when a messenger seagull arrived at the ship to deliver a newspaper.

"Have you raised the price again? Don't you think it's already too expensive?" Nami asked the bird, which only made a sound. "If you raise it again, I won't buy it anymore."

"Who cares what the newspapers say?" Usopp asked while doing something.

"I buy the newspaper every day, so I don't become an idiot," she said, already holding the newspaper.

"So, you've finished collecting money, right?" Usopp asked.

"Don't be an idiot. I just solved the town's problem. This time, I'm working for myself. I hate poor pirates," Nami said, making Usopp back away.

"Hey, stay away! I'm working on my new secret weapon, Tabasco Boshi! If a bad guy gets one of these in the eye..." Usopp said, trying to put hot sauce in a slingshot pellet, but Luffy fell on top of him, causing it to get into his eyes.

"Get out of here, damn it!" Sanji shouted.

Usopp screamed in pain while trying to stop the burning in his eyes.

"Why? Can't I have just one?!" Luffy asked, not understanding why they wouldn't let him.

"No! These are Nami-san's tangerine trees! I won't let anyone touch them! My love security is perfect!" Sanji said, blocking the way.

"He treats it like a tool," Zoro said, watching how Sanji acted around Nami.

"He's really stupid about that. If he fights a woman, he'll end up dying if she's strong," Oliver said while doing push-ups.

"The world is in absolute chaos. There was a coup in Vira," Nami said, sitting on a beach chair while reading the newspaper.

As Nami read, a paper fell out of the newspaper.

"Oh, an advertisement," Luffy said, looking at the paper on the ground.

Everyone looked at it, and it was a wanted poster.

"AAAHHH!!"

Luffy, Usopp, and Nami screamed—some in fear, others in excitement.

"Shishishi! Look, now they're looking for us, dead or alive! It says 30 million here!" Luffy said happily, now that he had a bounty.

"Once again, your inability to see the seriousness of the situation surprises me. Don't you realize they'll come to kill us now?!" Nami said, frustrated. "With that bounty, the Marine Headquarters will surely come after you, along with powerful bounty hunters."

Usopp was also happy because the back of his head could be seen behind Luffy.

"It's just the back of your head. Why are you happy?" Sanji asked angrily.

"Come on, if you work hard, you can get a bounty too," Usopp said.

"This isn't the time to keep lazing around in the East Blue," Nami said, having recovered.

"That's why we're going to the Grand Line!" Luffy shouted, making Sanji and Usopp cheer excitedly.

Sanji stopped cheering and looked at Oliver.

"Hey, why do you have animal ears and a tail?" Sanji asked.

Oliver stopped his exercises when he heard him and started wiping off his sweat.

"This is already weird. To think you'd be the one to ask me that and not the others—it's really strange," he said as he finished drying off. "I'm a Human-Mink Hybrid, that's why I have wolf ears and a tail."

Luffy's jaw dropped upon hearing that, and he quickly ran over to him.

"You're a Hybrid?! Incredible!" Luffy said, his eyes shining.

"Honestly, I thought you were going to ask about that the moment you met me," Oliver said.

"I thought you were just like the bear man and the mayor," Luffy said.

Oliver thought about it and remembered Mohji and Boodle, who seemed to have animal traits—a bear and a dog, respectively.

"Hey! I'm not that ugly!" Oliver said, a little disappointed. "Besides, I have a tail."

"I already knew. It's not like I thought you had an amazing costume with those features," Usopp said, looking away.

"Hey, there's an island ahead," Zoro said, paying no attention to the conversation.

'I suppose he hadn't even noticed before,' Oliver thought.

"An island? If we can see it, that means we're close to the Grand Line," Nami said.

"That must be the famous Loguetown, also known as 'The City of the Beginning and the End.' It's where the Pirate King, Gold Roger, was born and also where he was executed."

"The place where the Pirate King died," Luffy said, looking toward the island. "That must be the famous Loguetown."

"On that island, Gold Roger was born and died," Luffy said, staring at the island. "The city where the Pirate King died. The City of the Beginning and the End."

"Shall we go?" Nami asked.

"Yes," he said, excited.

"Then, full speed ahead," Nami ordered.

"YES!"

Getting into position, they advanced toward Loguetown.

"Whoooo! What a huge city!" Luffy said, looking at the city.

The city was incredibly large. So large that it covered the entire island.

"So this is where the pirate era began," Sanji said.

"Alright! I'm going to see the execution platform!" Luffy said, determined.

"I bet I can buy some good ingredients here. And also find some beautiful women," Sanji said, already thinking about women.

"I think I'll look for some equipment," Usopp said, considering what he could get.

"I'm going to buy something too," Zoro said, thinking about getting katanas.

"I'll lend you some money with 300% interest," Nami said, laughing slightly.

"I'll buy a few things too. We're missing several ingredients, cannonballs, and I also want to get training equipment," Oliver said, holding a shopping list.

"Do you want me to lend you some money?" Nami asked.

"Nah, I have enough to buy everything. You go buy whatever you want," Oliver said, placing a hand on Nami's head and ruffling her hair.

He walked away and tossed her a bag of belly.

"Huh?"

Nami checked inside—it was about a million belly.

'She should have some fun after living like that,' Oliver thought.

Luffy headed for the execution platform.

Sanji went to buy ingredients.

Usopp went to get different supplies to improve his gear.

Zoro went to buy katanas.

Nami went shopping for different outfits that could help in the Grand Line.

Oliver took a stroll while buying the supplies they needed for the Going Merry.

"I hope there's no mission on this island. A break would be nice," Oliver said.

[Mission: Leave Loguetown intact]

[Reward: Two Weapon Gacha Token, Combat Styles Gacha Token]

'I need to learn to shut my damn mouth,' Oliver thought, annoyed. 'At least I got more Tokens.'

Frustrated, he went to explore the city, trying to calm down.

Hey, what if we try giving a proper name to a human-mink hybrid?

It feels a bit weird to keep calling it a Human-Mink hybrid.
