Back in the city, Meng Lan is busy washing away memories of those who saw that unfortunate events. She only leave the memory of the collapsed rooftop due to the thunder strike. Dong Dong and Dong Wan rush to the scene to find their masters are missing. They are very sure they should be somewhere but where, their dog nose did not pick up any scent.
Meanwhile at the stall, Bai Lu's eye gradually change back to normal human eye. Dong Mei is fill with anxiety and wonder what should they do. They paid the stall owner and walk out. As they walk no one is panic on the streets everything is as per normal. Bai Lu walk and hold Dong Mei's hand tights. He is feeling uneasy so is Dong Mei. As long as his mother is not in his sight, he cannot shake away an uneasy feeling.
Meanwhile in the hill top, Hei is angry. He keep yelling at Hu Li for letting that two go. Hu Li is ignoring him while trying to calm down the thunder in the distance.
"Aren't your throat is in pain? You have been growling or yelling non stop."
"Hu Li! She will come back for you! She escape once where ever she is cage in, she can escape again!"
"Then let her come. I can handle her."
"You can't!"
"I can Hei. Let's go back. My son is waiting."
While they are talking, they did not realised that there is a pair of eyes looking at them in a distance. Hu Li and Hei quietly leap away and it disappear within a blink of an eye.
They all meetup at Meng Lan's Inn. Hu Li apologise for the rooftop. Meng Lan sigh as she fan herself. Hu Li tell the story of the snake. The three spiritual dogs are uncomfortable mentioning about the snake. The shiver as she talks about it. While Bai Lu is intrigued by it. He begin to analysed the issue. Huan Xi remain as a mouse in Bai Lu's hands. She is too having thoughts but she is tired to talk. Yang Yang is still scare hence she cling on to Hei. While Hei is feeling annoyed that he fail to kill that snake. Hu Li after telling her story, look down at her poor shoes.
"So tomorrow i have to get someone to repair the rooftop."
"Do you need help in ..."
Meng Lan wave her fan. She smile.
"Its a good excuse to do some renovation!"
"Where are we going to stay to night. We dogs can lay anywhere but master Bai Lu cannot!"
"I will be fine. Don't worry Dong Mei jie jie."
"It's simple. Everyone can squeeze with me. My living quarter is behind the restaurant. "
She ask them to follow her. They walk to the far end through a door. Inside the space is big where there is a small garden with roses. Inside her boudoir is huge.
"Why are you staying here alone when your room is so big?"
"I am used to it. Big rooms. Besides that i can choose whichever beds to sleep on that night."
"Meng Lan jie jie you got four beds in this room! "
She smile while fanning herself. She pour cups of tea for them. The spiritual dogs take it and drink it in a hurry. Bai Lu gently put Huan Xi on a bed. She transform to a little girl and sit there. She is amazed at how big and beautiful the room is. While Hei is sitting on the chair looking around.
"Meng Lan, my house is not even this big and just a bed alone. Not mentioned it is dark too."
"Do you want me to go over and help brighten up your bedroom?"
"Meng Lan jie jie, the problem is his house is really small."
"This is actually a small storeroom in the human eyes and our eyes, it is different."
Meng Lan giggle looking at the faces. Hei smile then rub his chin.
"Sounds like i need you to come to my place and have a look."
Meng Lan giggle again with the fan covering her face.
"Fine. I will pop by. Tonight, everyone please choose a bed. Except for the bed at the end, it's meow."
"Still not enough. We got the Dong brothers on one bed. Bai Lu and Huan Xi on one. Dong Mei and Yang Yang on one. Meng Lan on her bed. What about Hei and Hu Li?"
"Doesn't matter. We don't sleep much."
"If mother do need a bed, just squeeze with me. Huan xi is always in my pocket. So there is space."
That night Hu Li and Hei sit at the garden. Sitting near the roses and watching the moon seems so peaceful at that time. Both of them had morph into their fox form and sit on the flowerbed. One is pure white with five tails and the other is black with one big tail. Both of them close their eyes for while to rest. While at that, their ears remain up to listen to incoming danger. When Hu Li open her eyes, Di Jun is in front. She stretch herself and walk out of the flower bed.
