Hu Lu and her company stayed in the snowy cave for a long time. The portal is open thus animals of all sorts will walk in. Some are just purely animals and some are spiritual animals. Di Jun is the frequent visitor sometimes Fei comes along with him. Di Jun have gain permission for Hu Li to return back to the skies but Hu Li refused. In this cosy home, she is allow to go in and out when she is bored. She rarely interact with humans. Usually she will just help the helpless.
While everyone remain the same, her son grows up mentally in his mind but physically he have grown taller and bigger like a ten years old. Thus when he talks to anyone, he gives out a feeling of a old man trap in a young boy's body. This frustrate him endlessly. Sometimes he gets into argument with his mother however later he will apologise and hug his mother. Bai Lu rarely see his mother morph into a fox. Now Hu Li have five tails in total. Her power have become stronger throughout the years.
One of those days, Hu Li is extremely bored. She decided to go to the capital to walk around. Her son is excited and he follows along. Yang Yang after so long of cultivation, she managed to have a tiny voice. She developed a way to talk with her hands. She eager wanting to follow along. The three dogs who hear this immediately pack up what they need. Huan Xi who is older now is getting slow in moving thus she spend most of her time in Bai Lu's pocket as a mouse.
They walk to the capital in the same path they took many years ago. They walk pass the fields where people are working. They watch the sunsets and sunrise. Reaching the capital, there is a tight security. They all morph into their animal form and goes in the way they know before. Bai Lu now who is older, use a wooden name tag to get into the city. Hu Li and the rest wait for him at the same spot as always when they come to this capital.
They goes off to a popular tea house which is big and luxurious. People are going in and out. After a hundred of years, it remain as a busy restaurant. Meng Lan is siting at the counter smiling to each customer who enter and counting the cash too. She light up seeing her old friend. She runs up to Hu Li. They hold hands and chat bit. She instruct her worker to clear up the top floor biggest room. Slowly they all walk up and chat on the way up.
"I see your business is getting better all these years!"
"Haha yes. However it's difficult for me. I have to keep pretending someone else in the family after ten years in the business. I am running out of names to name myself haha!"
Yang Yang seeing her favourite pot off plant in the room rush there. She starts to chew on the leaves. Bai Lu pat her head as she sits there holding the big vase.
"Aunty Meng Lan the furniture looks expensive!"
"Boy, don't call me aunty! I am still young. You call everyone by their name, so i demand that too."
"Yes, aun... Meng Lan jie jie."
"Well i don't mind jie jie. Just don't call me aunty. "
They start to talk about other things and Hei walk up the room. Bai Lu haven't see him for a long time rush up to him. Its like a family reunion in that private suit. Everyone is delighted to see old friends still exist. Huan Xi sits on the corner and smile. She have begin to quiet down over the years. However her youthful appearances of a little girl remains.
The group decided to take a walk in the busy street to see. Bai Lu carry Huan Xi like his little sister. The spiritual dogs are excited to smell the savoury food that is selling. Meng Lan have provide them some new currency that they need to spend in a human world. They move happily around watching and eating. By evening they sit in a local theatre that shows a Chinese Opera going on. They watch and enjoy the peanuts and tea given on the table. As Hu Li watch, she feel strange. As if there is someone watching her. She look around but she don't see anyone. Hei notice that Hu Li Is uneasy. He look around and see if there is any sight of malice intention in the crowd. He doesn't smell anything but he is prepare if there is.
After the show, they are the last few to exit out. Everyone is in a good mood.
"Hu Li."
She stop walking. It's a familiar voice. She turn around to see that familiar face that she can never forget. Hei growl and look at Hu Li. Hei knows who he is base on Hu Li's expression. She try to keep her emotion intact so that she doesn't cry and go blind.
"I have been waiting for your return."
"Hei bring them all back to the resting place."
She look at him and ensure that everything will be fine. Hei growl at that man. He run to the group that have walk further away without noticing Hu Li have stop walking. She watch them walk far. She turn around to look at the familiar stranger. He smells different, he is not Sheng Qin. She repeat that in her mind.
"I believe you know who i am but who are you?"
"I used to have a life previously known as Yue Sheng Qin. Now i am Yue Sheng Luo."
"I ... so you think you know me?"
"Yes. I have been waiting for you. You smell the same as per my memory. The musky after rain smell. "
He walk up to her. He smile and from his pocket, he remove a cattail grass.
"It is not the same cattail grass you gave me the last time. Its a new one i pick up whenever i see it."
Hu Li did not talk nor she take the cattail grass. She simply stand there and look at him. The theatre lights are slowly light up by a boy running around with a torch.
