Sheng Qin study non-stop but he did not forget his have a non human wife who spend all her time with him. When he takes breaks, they will walk in the garden and smell the air. Sometimes she will morph back to her fox form. Sheng Qin will carry her and walk around. Most of the time, he is the only one who does the talking and Hu Li will look at him with her golden electric eyes. She listen to whatever he said without understanding it. It sound profound but yet to her he is on the way to be a great man in this dynasty, She will lend a helping hand if she must.
The light floaters return every few months. They watch Sheng Qin and talk to Hu Li when no one is around.
"Our family in the past have a few men both talented in both literature and martial arts. Mostly take the direction to be a general and lead into war. Sheng Qin happen to be one of those who are good at both but his condition fails him sometimes."
"I am reading a book on acupuncture. Maybe it will help him."
"We are not sure if it works, master."
"I would like to try it on him."
Sheng Qin parents look at each other and bow.
"Do you have any ideal where i can get those needles from?" Both of them shake their heads. Hu Li sigh and flip the medical book. She lay down the bed on her side and slowly read the acupuncture chart. Soon she realise that there are some treatments that does not require needles. She can massage the points of interest.
That night, Sheng Qin brings Hu Li to the ancestor hall. He pray to them and ask Hu Li to do the same as he did. She stand there with three joss stick in her hands. However the tablets tremble slightly as she bow. She see the light floaters appear out no where. They all bow. Hu Li look at them and shake her head. As Sheng Qin did the routine ritual steps, he notice Hu Li is acting strange. He look at the vacant spot where she is mumble at.
"Is there something wrong?"
"Nothing. Just. strange."
"Then follow me and put the joss stick on the pot after you are done."
Hu Li did as what he did when she bow, the tablets shake again. Sheng Qin look at what it happen. He look under the table and straighten up.
"You can see things? Am i right? Something is causing the tablets shaking."
"Master, please. Please don't bow to us. We cannot accept your bowing. It's too much for us to accept it."
"Well... Sheng Qin, they are unhappy with me."
The ancestors of the Yue clan immediately all bow and protest. While Sheng Qin is wondering why are they not satisfy about with Hu Li.
"Why?"
"Yeah why... You! ... Yue... Yue En Zhan tell me why."
Yue En Zhan who is still bowing look around his own clan men. He slowly speak in his polite low voice.
"You are the master above us. We cannot receive a bow from the divine being."
"Yue En Zhan said that... i am a divine being. They cannot accept a bow from me."
Sheng Qin then realised that and he pinch himself for not thinking of that.
"Wait that name..."
Sheng Qin look through the tablets and find the last second line of tablet placed at the highest point. He is one of the oldest who started the Yue clan.
"Yue En Zhan ancestor, if you can hear me. Please bless us as a family. I sincerely like Hu Li and she is my wife now. I am starting to study for the spring imperial examinations on the coming year. Please bless us all. When i pass the examinations, i will personally set up a shrine in the temple for the monks to chant. So that all the ancestors of Yue will be at peace."
The ancestors of Yue clan all smile with approval. Shen Qin parents are happy that their son is finally on the path to bring glory to the family.
"Master, our son is now in your care. The glory of Yue is close. May you continue to watch out for us and the future generations to come."
The next few months, the Lunar New Year arrives. Hu Li for the first time celebrated in the human world. She see fire works for the first time. The beautiful colors light up the dark sky with loud bangs. She watch the colourful flowers appear and disappear. She stands there with Sheng Qin, holding his hand. Hu Li at that point feels a new emotion. It makes her happy and smile non stop with him. The snow gently drop and cover the entire city yet this does not stop everyone from coming out to celebrate. Out on the streets, the dragon and lion dance is putting out performances till late night. Everyone on the street are rejoicing and smiling. Hu Li and Sheng Qin along with the old servants have a hearty dinner along with some wine. Everyone this year have a new outfit which is the first time after along years of hardship. They credit this to Hu Li who married into this decline household. Now everything is getting better, everyone is seeing hope for the future. Once Sheng Qin pass the examinations, they want a bigger celebration and prayers also hope to see little Sheng Qin to join them.
