Chapter 108 - 80 A.C. II

(Drakken's POV)

The sound of thunder boomed all over the area, the air itself slightly shook as the cracks of lightning hit the ground. The downpour was so hard that it felt like it was capable of crumbling Harrenhal's walls with ease.

It was a perfect storm.

I stood in the mouth of the cave as the entire vision in front of me was completely grey, the rain was falling so hard that it created a veil of water in front of me. Yet for some reason, I did not feel threatened at all.

"It is a powerful storm...." Mya said as she stood behind me, "That thing is too strong, My Lord."

"It is strong enough." I said as I looked outside, "It is fulfilling its purpose. It is proof that the connection to the Dark Shade is strong. I am satisfied with it."

We had used a quick opportunity in the storm, where it let up for a couple of minutes, and made our way to the Cave.

"How long do we have to stay here until it passes?" She asked me, "Riktor grows restless."

I sighed and turned around, seeing that she was holding Riktor, "You worry too much about him." I said, "Put him down, he can stand on his own."

"He is but a child." She said with a frown

"We will not have an argument yet." I said before pointing at Riktor, "Son, walk on your own."

He looked at me and nodded, squirming down from his Mother's arms and landed on the ground. He patted his pants and looked at me with a determined face, giving me another nod.

"Good." I said, "Now, let us go an-"

I was cut off by the sound of thunder, shaking the cave itself. It was then followed by a loud roar, one that was deafening. I could feel the power of the roar, the pure unadulterated magic power that coursed through the air itself was vibrant.

"Every time it wakes, it does this...." She said, "When will it move down south?"

"When the time comes." I said with a chuckle, "Let us continue. Son, come with me."

I walked past Riktor and sensed that he followed. I could hear his tiny footsteps behind as we walked down the corridor of the cave, making our way further into it. The more we walked, the more eerie the atmosphere got; even I could feel a strange tingle in the air, one that oozed magic power. It was quite different than the Storm God, which I have not named yet. This feeling was potent, powerful, and rather calm.

We reached a large chamber that had several glowing moss on the ceiling, giving it light. At the far end of it, there was a large stone platform that had three dragon eggs that were covered in a thick black and red membrane. There were glowing red veins over the membranes that were connected to the eggs.

I could feel Mya's heartbeat, "Hm...." I said, "What is the matter, woman?"

"I do not know.." She said, "Being in this chamber....it makes me uneasy...."

"It could be your magic reacting to the pure power that is in these eggs." I said as I walked over to platform, "They are dragons....according to this world's laws....but they are far more than that....one day, they will hatch...and they will terrorize the world....."

"I fear for anybody that dares face them..." Mya said

"The Guardian, Lyssa, and The Storm God." I said as I glanced at her, "All of those beasts and yet none of them make you feel like these eggs do. Why?"

She shook her head, "I do not know."

"You feel anxious and scared when in the presence of mere eggs." I said, "You will not be ready for Grayle and Talis. Change that. You are important, you need to be there for their rise. I do not wish to have to concern myself with you should you freeze in shock and fear...."

She nodded, "Forgive me, My Lord." She said, "I....I will try..."

I looked at Riktor, "Come." I said, "Choose an egg."

"H-He's choosing now?" Mya asked

"He is." I said, "Riktor, come."

"But the power...the heat...." Mya said, "He is but a chi-"

"Quiet." I told her as I gestured Riktor over, "I will not repeat myself, son."

Riktor walked over to me, "Egg....." He said, "Why do I choose?"

I looked at him, "It is your birthright.....to rule over dragonkind." I said, "You are not the son of just any lord, you are the son I, Drakken, the God of War and Death. Do you know what that makes you?"

He shook his head, "No."

"A Demi-God." I said, "A step closer to reaching divinity.....above the likes of anyone in this wretched and pathetic world. By merely being my blood, you are superior to everyone. You require something to establish that, a symbol of your power should you walk the path of the Warrior."

He nodded, "I want to fight."

"Good." I said with a slight smirk, "You have a fighter's will, that is good. Only two yet far more intelligent than any other child....that is good."

He lifted his hand up and pointed at an egg, "That one." He said, "Black and red."

I looked at the egg he pointed at; it was a black one with red stripes on it. It resembled the scales of Balerion, The Targaryen's greatest power.

"Hm.." I said, "Interesting..."

These were the eggs I had taken from Jaehaerys years ago. I had pumped them full of my magic power and infused them with Balerion's blood when I took it. I decided to modify these dragons, to make them better, significantly better, and more lethal than even Balerion. While my other beasts were superior to Vhagar, I wanted to give the Targaryens a feeling of dread when they realized that no matter what, they stood no chance against me.

I looked at the other ones; a white one with light grey markings and a bright green one with red markings. They too were going to be modified dragons, or in this case....wyverns...

"Make no mistake." I said as I looked at Riktor, "These may be called dragons in this world, but they are technically Wyverns. And I will modify them as much you desire, my son. So tell me, what do you wish your dragon to be....?"

"Strong." He said as he pumped his fist

Strong, huh? Such a childish answer; so simple and yet so effective.

"Strong...." I said, "That is it?"

"Power...." He said with a slight smirk,

"Absolute Power."
