Lu Wuqi chuckled, her cold expression easing slightly. "High praise coming from you."
Before Yun Qingyue could retort, a small voice interrupted them.
"Mommy, are you and Mom fighting?"
Both women turned their heads to see Yunyue staring at them with wide, innocent eyes, her cheeks puffed out slightly from the snacks she had been munching on. In her tiny hands, she clutched a plushie tightly against her chest.
Lu Wuqi shook her head and reached out, gently poking Yunyue's round cheek. "No, little devil. Your mom just likes pretending to be scary."
Yunyue blinked, then gasped dramatically, looking at Yun Qingyue. "Mom! Why are you scary?"
Yun Qingyue's expression didn't change, but there was a faint twitch at the corner of her mouth. She leaned slightly toward Yunyue and asked in an even tone, "Do I look scary to you?"
