Old Sir Zhong and Old Madam Zhong looked at Lu Yichen and Zhong Niangyao seated before them, both doubting their own ears, wondering if they had misheard.
Even Zhong Minghao and Zheng Silin from the main house were bemused, though a faint excitement could just about be glimpsed in their eyes.
It was only Zhong Jinghao sitting off to the side who remained calm from start to finish, his face even wearing an expression as if he had anticipated this all along.
"Are you saying," Old Sir Zhong deliberated before speaking, "that this meeting was intended by your father to set the date for both of your matters as well?"
Early this morning, Lu Yichen had come over in person, and while it was initially thought to be for some matter, unexpectedly, it was about setting a meeting between the two families.
To this, Old Sir Zhong and Old Madam Zhong were not surprised. After all, this matter had been discussed before.
