Saif springs up from a laid down position panting, his eyes wide open, but his vision is hazy. He feels a throbbing pain in his left shoulder from him getting up. Panting loudly with sweat quickly forming on his face. His mind is racing with thoughts of what just happened to him. Who were they? What did the one that had my axe do to me? Why did it hurt so much??!!
His thoughts are interrupted by a sudden noise next to him. He quickly darts his vision towards the source of the noise and finds that the person is laying there and stretching as she wakes up. Saif's mind is filled with confusion now. Wasn't he just tied up by his hands in a place that was dark, and wasn't she nowhere to be seen? He looks at his hands and is then stunned. His right hand doesn't have the bandages it had before on it, and it doesn't hurt anymore. Didn't he put it in the fire and the fire burnt him? Did it already heal? He looks around him again and finds himself back in the ruin he once was before they journeyed to the wide building.
Nothing makes sense at all. He looks down at himself and finds that the bandages and the shirt are back on him again, and he is not wearing the pants with the holes on the sides anymore. His chest is also not bleeding at all. His breathing slows down slightly as he finds out that he is fine. But the confusion in his mind is still apparent. What just happened? Why is everything back to what it was? I was probably just dreaming. Dreaming... . But how did I already know what I had on me and how the place around me looked when I was just dreaming? He then glances at the person while she is still stretching. And how did I know how the face of the person looked?
…
I probably just saw glimpses of it when I was asleep and my mind was awake so I projected it in my dream, and the rest of what happened in the wide building was just a nightmare. A nightmare... . That word sends slight shivers down Saif's spine as flashed of what happened circulates back into his mind. But could it have all just been a nightmare? Could his brain really do that to him? And why did he reach this conclusion, and why does it feel slightly right, but mostly just reaching for a logical answer? It all didn't make sense to him at all, but the confusion he got was better than anything he had at that point, and help him ease up a bit as he now knows he is no longer in danger finally and can rest his mind.
He is just glad it was all a dream, even if it was frightening and painful. As relief finally relieves him, his body starts to relax again. He then notices the person getting up after she finished stretching, and flashes of her leading him to that place go through his head. It wasn't real, but it felt real, but he shouldn't blame her for something she never did. But he still feels slightly uneasy. As she walks towards him, he can't help but feel dejavu at the sight. When she reached him, she got down and sat in front of him in a position where only her feet touched the ground and she laid her chin on her knees. As she dropped down, he couldn't help but move his body back instinctively from his slight unease towards her. Suddenly, she says "What are you and how much do you remember?" In the same soft and aloof voice he remembered.
At that question, his eyes widened from what he heard. His mind races and so does his heart again. The reason to why he knew how the environment around him looked made slight sense to him yes, but this... . Why did she say the same exact thing she said last time?! With the same attitude, the same behaviour! I even flinched back a bit from her getting so close like last time! What is going on?! All these questions, but no answers. How did he know? Why did he know? Does that mean things will repeat themselves? And if they will, will he go back to the same dark place and feel excruciating pain again. Even more violent flashes go through his head from him remembering when he got his axe thrusted into his heart, and his breathing rate just keeps increasing with each flash, and so does his breathing. He stared at the person in fear for what he knew she will do. But now what? What is he supposed to do?
After a while of waiting, the person knew she wasn't going to get an answer from him so she asked again in a more sturn but still aloof and soft voice, "What are you and how much do you remember?". She repeated herself, just like last time... Saif's heart rate increased to a point where he can hear his own heart beat. This confirmed it. Things are repeating themselves. But how? DOES THAT EVEN MATTER NOW?! I need to get away from here. NOW! He doesn't answer her and just tries to get up, this time instead of shooting himself up and hurting his hand and body by the sudden motion and almost falling, he takes it slow and puts down his right hand as support for him to her up. He then quickly looked around for his axe and locked on it. He walked quickly to where it was as there was no flame yet, so there was nothing to fear. He grabbed his axe the same way he did during the long walk, but this time he held it with his right hand as it wasn't hurt like last time, and this way he wouldn't drop it like the many times he did during the walk. He then sprinted outside the ruin.
As he moves his body, he feels so much pain from his feet from all the rockes and crystals on the ground, but the adrenaline in his body numbs the pain enough for him to ignore it. Where is he going? Where should I go? The city. Right. I wanted to go there. To find people. People who will help, not hurt, unlike those ones who hurt him. Ones who will take care of him, just like the person did... . As he slows down to redirect himself to the city, his mind also slows down. He remembered how nicely the person treated him. How she purred water on his hand when it got burnt from the fire, and even bandaged it. How she fed him the tasty soup. How she blew on it to cool it down for him so it doesn't hurt him anymore, and after he was able to taste how tasty it was. Could she have really known about the bad people in the wide building? No, she wouldn't have done this to him. And if she knew, then why would she have done all those nice to him. As he thinks of this last part, he turned his body around to then look at the city and then saw something quickly move in front of him that then struck him in the head.
He falls to the ground. His head feels dizzy and it hurts a lot. His vision is hazy and he can't see anything. What happened? He shouldn't have been like this again yet. He wasn't at the wide building yet. What was going on? This was the last coherent thought he could make before his mind falls blank.
