The sleek black limousine rolled to a halt at the grand gates of Nakahara Academy, its mirror-like exterior catching the morning sun and reflecting a brilliance that seemed to draw every gaze. The students gathered on the cobblestone pathway froze, their conversations halting mid-sentence as they turned to gape.
The back door didn't open immediately. Instead, the tinted window lowered just enough to reveal a brief flash of movement inside. What followed was enough to steal the breath from anyone watching.
Inside the car, Liam Nakamura had one hand tangled in Lena's sleek chestnut hair, the other resting possessively on her waist. Lena straddled him with an elegance that defied their compromising position. Their kiss was anything but subtle—a fervent, passionate exchange that left her lipstick smeared and his shirt slightly rumpled, an uncharacteristic mark on his otherwise pristine uniform.
Lena's sharp suit strained against her curves as Liam deepened the kiss, a low, satisfied growl escaping his throat. She responded in kind, her nails dragging lightly along his jawline, leaving a faint blush of color in their wake. Their breaths mingled, the heat of the moment radiating so strongly it seemed to fog the car windows despite the blasting air conditioning.
After what felt like an eternity, Lena broke away with a teasing smirk, her thumb tracing his swollen bottom lip. "Try not to make this day harder for me than it needs to be, Nakamura."
Liam chuckled, his voice dripping with both amusement and desire. "Can't make any promises, Lena. You make restraint... impossible."
With a soft laugh, Lena slid gracefully back into her seat as Liam adjusted his tie and smoothed his hair with the practiced ease of someone born to command attention. The door swung open, and he stepped out, his uniform immaculate once more, save for the subtle glint of mischief in his dark eyes.
As Liam turned to sling his bag over one shoulder and head toward the school's grand entrance, whispers erupted like wildfire. Gasps followed when Lena stepped out after him, her own smirk the epitome of quiet confidence.
Liam's stride was unbothered by the chaos he left in his wake, but the students could only watch, jaws slack, as the Nakamura heir disappeared into the gates of the school.
Liam hadn't taken more than a dozen steps inside when he was intercepted by two familiar figures. Masaru and Sakazuki Oga, notorious bullies with more arrogance than sense, blocked his path.
"Well, well," Masaru sneered, his arms crossed. "If it isn't the big-shot Nakamura. You've got some nerve showing up here after what you did to us last time."
Liam raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Oh, you're still alive? I must have gone too easy on you."
Sakazuki bristled, his face turning red. "Don't get cocky! Ryu wants to have a word with you. Come with us."
"Ryu?" Liam repeated, feigning confusion. "Who's that? Another clown from your circus?"
Masaru scowled and grabbed Liam's arm, but Liam didn't budge. Instead, he gave Masaru a cold look that made the bully instantly let go.
"You'd better come quietly," Sakazuki warned, his voice shaking slightly.
"Lead the way," Liam said casually, deciding to humor them. "I could use a good laugh."
The Oga brothers led Liam to the rooftop, where a group of older students lounged around. At the center of the group sat Ryu Kimura, a tall and decent-looking young man with a smug expression. His uniform was meticulously tailored, and he exuded an air of entitlement that grated on Liam immediately.
"So, you're Liam Nakamura," Ryu said, looking him up and down with a disdainful smirk. "Not much to look at, are you?"
Liam chuckled, crossing his arms. "And you must be Ryu Kimura. Your reputation precedes you—though I can't say it's a good one."
Ryu's smirk faltered for a moment, but he quickly recovered. "Watch your mouth, Nakamura. Do you know who I am? My grandfather is the director of this school's board. Around here, I'm king."
"King?" Liam repeated, tilting his head mockingly. "I must have missed the coronation."
The goons around Ryu laughed nervously, unsure if they should join in or stay quiet. Ryu's expression darkened.
"You think you're untouchable because your daddy has money?" Ryu said, standing up. "Let me make one thing clear: in this school, your wealth means nothing. If you want to avoid trouble, you'll do as I say."
"And what exactly do you want?" Liam asked, his tone bored.
Ryu gestured toward a nearby chair, where Shizuka Nakamura's name was scrawled on a notebook. "Your sister. Tell her to go on a date with me. Oh, and call me brother-in-law while you're at it. It'll save us all a lot of trouble."
Liam stared at him for a moment before bursting out laughing. "Brother-in-law? You've really lost it. How could someone like you dream of a girl like Shizuka? You're nothing but a toad lusting after a swan."
Ryu's face turned red with anger. "Watch your mouth, Nakamura! If you don't do as I say, I'll make your life miserable. I don't care how influential your father is. In here, I call the shots!"
Liam's laughter died down, and his expression turned icy. "You've got a big mouth for someone so small. Let me guess—you think surrounding yourself with these bottom-feeders makes you powerful?"
Ryu snarled. "Boys, teach him a lesson."
The goons charged at Liam, but he didn't flinch. The first one swung a punch at his face, but Liam sidestepped effortlessly, grabbing the boy's arm and twisting it behind his back with a sickening crack.
"Next," Liam said, shoving the groaning boy to the ground.
Masaru and Sakazuki hesitated, but the rest of Ryu's lackeys attacked all at once. Liam ducked under a wild punch, delivered a sharp kick to another's knee, and slammed his palm into the chest of a third, sending him sprawling.
Within seconds, the rooftop was littered with groaning bodies. Liam hadn't even broken a sweat.
Ryu stood frozen, his confidence shattered.
"Y-You…" He stammered.
Liam walked up to him slowly, his expression calm but dangerous. "What's the matter, King? You look nervous."
Ryu backed away, but Liam grabbed him by the collar and lifted him off the ground effortlessly.
"You think you can threaten me?" Liam said, his voice low and cold. "You think you can drag my sister into your pathetic little games? Let me make something very clear. You are nothing. Less than nothing."
He dropped Ryu unceremoniously to the ground and brushed off his hands as if they were dirty.
Before leaving the rooftop, Liam pulled out his phone and dialed Lena.
"Lena," He said casually, "release everything we have on Ryu Kimura's grandfather. And while you're at it, dig up whatever dirt you can find on the Oga family. Send it all to the media."
"Understood," Lena replied, her tone professional.
Ryu's eyes widened in panic. "Wait! You can't—"
"Watch me," Liam said, cutting him off. "You wanted to play king. Now you'll learn what happens when you challenge someone above your level."
He turned and walked away, leaving Ryu and his cronies to deal with the consequences.
As Liam descended the stairs, he couldn't help but smile. The school day had barely started, and already, it was turning out to be entertaining.
