Chapter 178 - Chapter 178: The Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear vs. The Three-Eyed Golden Lion!

Jing Shaoyu and his companions followed Gu Yue's wind bird, swiftly heading toward the source of the roars. Jing Shaoyu led the way, with Gu Yue and Xu Xiaoyan flanking him on either side.

Suddenly, Gu Yue's expression shifted. In a low voice, she said, "Ahead to the left—there's a valley. That's where the target is. But my wind bird was dispersed by a shockwave."

"Stay close to me and be careful," Jing Shaoyu instructed, his expression growing serious as his Stellar Scepter materialized in his hand. Without looking back, he addressed Gu Yue and Xu Xiaoyan.

"Got it!" Both girls nodded. Xu Xiaoyan's Star Staff shimmered with starlight, while Gu Yue's silver eyes glowed faintly, signaling their readiness for battle.

The three pushed through the dense forest until the valley Gu Yue had mentioned came into view. Its perimeter was barren, devoid of vegetation, yet within, a lush, verdant expanse thrived, with foliage spilling out beyond the valley's edge.

Before they even reached the valley's edge, waves of powerful shockwaves erupted from within, shaking the ground and sending ripples outward in visible, concentric patterns.

They immediately activated their soul power. With its augmentation, the shockwaves became more manageable, allowing them to inch closer to the valley. Moving cautiously, the trio grew increasingly certain that the valley housed not one, but two soul beasts, each exceeding ten thousand years in cultivation.

"Stay low and crawl forward," Jing Shaoyu instructed. He flattened his body parallel to the ground and began crawling toward the edge of the valley. Gu Yue and Xu Xiaoyan followed his lead without hesitation.

Reaching the valley's edge, they carefully peered over, and the sight before them made all three gasp in shock.

Inside the valley, deafening booms akin to thunder resounded continuously. Two massive light spheres clashed at incredible speeds, each over thirty meters in diameter. Every collision shook the earth and sky, sending shockwaves that spilled out of the valley as violent gales.

"Brother Shaoyu, can you see what's inside those light spheres?" Xu Xiaoyan whispered near Jing Shaoyu's ear, her voice tinged with curiosity and apprehension.

"Let me take a look," Jing Shaoyu responded softly.

He closed his eyes, and as he did, a radiant flow appeared on his forehead. Slowly, a vertical third eye opened—a Trinity Eye, with golden, silver, and purple pupils intertwining. It emanated an aura of profound mystery, as if containing the cycles of life and death, the origins of existence, and the endless intricacies of time and space.

The Eye of Dao.

From the Eye of Dao, an imperceptible beam shot out, piercing through the radiant spheres, revealing the two massive entities within.

Both were soul beasts. The sight of them made Jing Shaoyu's breath hitch once more.

The left sphere, radiating dark gold, housed a soul beast of terrifying repute. As he discerned its true form, a warm sensation coursed through his palm.

It was none other than the infamous Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear, the King of the Forest, Monarch of Bears!

Unlike the juvenile one that had provided Jing Shaoyu with an external soul bone in the beginner Spirit Ascension Platform, this Terrorclaw Bear was colossal, standing over ten meters tall—three times the size of its counterpart. It exuded a dominating and oppressive dark golden glow, its immense, clawed paws swinging with destructive force. Each swipe carved deep gashes into the ground and cliff walls, leaving an aura of devastation in its wake.

There was no doubt: this was a ten-thousand-year Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear, a being whose might could rival some weaker hundred-thousand-year soul beasts.

Jing Shaoyu marveled at its power. The destructive force it displayed made the legend of its ability to shred lesser hundred-thousand-year beasts seem all too plausible.

But what kind of soul beast could face such a terrifying opponent head-on and remain unharmed?

Shifting his gaze to the right sphere, glowing with a magnificent golden radiance, Jing Shaoyu was once again awestruck.

This soul beast's crystalline body shone like translucent gold, exuding an ethereal, otherworldly beauty. It resembled a majestic lion, but its four elegant legs ended in draconic claws, each resting on golden flames akin to clouds. Its elongated, crocodilian snout gave it a unique appearance, while beneath its shimmering mane lay scales of fine gold.

The creature's most defining feature, however, was the vertical red eye on its forehead—its third eye. The crimson glow of this eye contrasted with the divine gold of its other two eyes, blending divinity and mysticism in an awe-inspiring balance.

It was the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, the Emperor's Auspicious Beast!

The legendary offspring of the Dragon God's fifth son, the Scaly Lion. It was the catalyst for the soul beast dynasty of millennia past, as well as the source of the greatest beast tide in recorded history. Yet it was also the tragic creature that fell prey to Tang San's schemes, ultimately sacrificing itself for Huo Yuhao.

Jing Shaoyu's heart murmured in awe. This was undoubtedly the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, a beast steeped in legend.

However, this lion was clearly not the one from history—it was impossible for there to be two. The existence of this Three-Eyed Golden Lion was likely the result of Shrek Academy's unique methods, a mere replica and not the true Auspicious Beast.

If this were a genuine Three-Eyed Golden Lion, the consequences would be unimaginable. Such a creature could bolster the soul beast race to unprecedented heights, negating the need for conflict with humanity.

But alas, this was a beautiful dream, not reality. Even if such a being existed, it wouldn't be here—it would likely be under the control of entities like Tang Hao or Da Ming.

Watching the two titanic beasts clash in the valley, Jing Shaoyu felt both awe and trepidation.
