I need to Remind you that James Hunt was actually meant to be a woman, so I Think I'll change the name from here on to "Jammisa Hunt", tell me your thoughts on the matter.
...
"Mr. Conrad, this is Ethan Grave, and the Pokémon beside him is Suicune."
As Ethan appeared before the assembled officials, Secretary Elijah quickly introduced him to Mr. Conrad Singh.
As the team leader of a temporary review committee of experts, Conrad had the final say on their findings.
Conrad was a prominent figure in the fields of chemistry and physics, with an international reputation and the deep trust of the government. This time, he had the ultimate oversight responsibility.
"A genetic creature, huh? Even prettier than in the video," Conrad observed, stroking his chin and beard with mild approval. Many called these organisms "Pokémon," but Conrad stuck to the term "genetic creature.
In fact, Conrad already knew about Pokémon Biotech and Ethan. His granddaughter had talked incessantly about wanting a Pokémon.
At first, Conrad dismissed the idea; his family already had two precious genetic creatures, so why another? But as he learned more about Pokémon, especially their evolution, Conrad's curiosity was piqued. He bought one for his granddaughter, a Pichu that arrived a few weeks ago. Since then, he has observed that Pichu has shown him how different Pokémon are from typical genetic organisms.
With this personal history, Conrad was looking forward to finally meeting Ethan in person. "Only a gifted bio-designer could have created something like Pichu," Conrad thought.
"Ethan, this is Mr. Conrad Singh, head of our review team," Secretary Elijah added, winking at Ethan in encouragement.
Ethan smiled and addressed Conrad directly. "Hello, I'm Ethan Grave, CEO and head of Pokémon Biotech. This is Suicune, and we'll be relying on it to clean up the nuclear waste."
"Good, good..." Conrad nodded. "My granddaughter loves the Pichu she got from your company, she treats it like royalty. She mentioned that you sold some 'evolution fluid' recently. I assume the evolved Pikachu on your shoulder is that form, yes?"
He gestured to the Pikachu, which did indeed resemble Pichu somewhat.
"Exactly," Ethan confirmed, noting that Conrad had brought this up to show goodwill.
Conrad cut the pleasantries short. "Enough talk. Let's begin the test. If your genetic organism really cleans up nuclear waste, I'll give you an honest report. If there's anything wrong, I'll report it to my superiors as well."
"Of course," Ethan replied easily, no thoughts of shortcuts or favoritism. He just wanted a fair trial.
"I wish you luck," Conrad said and turned on his heel. "Follow me..."
The group walked out into a larger lab facility. After a short briefing, Ethan sent Suicune inside.
The only difference from the previous inspections was a large screen outside showing a live feed from several cameras inside the lab.
"So nervous," James whispered, his fingers clenched. He stood next to Ethan and felt his own pulse racing.
"It's okay," Ethan assured him. "We've seen Suicune succeed before, it won't fail us now."
James glanced sideways at the dignitaries around them, then leaned forward: "We've got some real heavy hitters: Conrad, whose lectures I've seen, is a top-notch expert; his deputy is a National Academy of Sciences bigwig in biology." James' voice dropped. "Secretary Elijah, the mayor, and the city committee are all present."
He laughed in awe. "Our company must have a lot of clout to get that kind of attention, huh? I never thought we'd see a day like this."
Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Think bigger. If you come with me to Japan, you might meet the Emperor of Japan or the Prime Minister."
James cringed slightly. "No, thank you. I'd rather stay here and tend to the lab."
"Suicune has started purifying the waste water," Ethan interrupted, pointing to the screen.
James quickly focused on the screen again.
Inside the lab, Suicune walked to several large pools of nuclear waste. With each gentle touch of his hoof, a pool of dirty, radioactive liquid became clear. One by one, the pools completed the purification process.
"Amazing! If it weren't for the live cameras, I'd suspect post-production editing," someone exclaimed.
"It's basically magic," muttered another. "I have no idea how it does that..."
"Next up is sampling and testing," someone else said. "But it looks good for the million plus tons of nuclear waste in Japan."
The onlookers continued to whisper. If they hadn't already seen Ethan's earlier demonstration videos, they would probably be more vocal. A few had watched those videos again for half an hour just this morning.
James was watching in person for the first time and was amazed. Ethan had never openly demonstrated Suicune's abilities in front of so many people. James realized how carefully Ethan had kept this secret until now.
"Sisco, your thoughts?" Conrad asked his second-in-command - a biology specialist James had mentioned earlier.
Sisco grimaced. "I can't figure it out," he admitted. Even though he'd worked for the Northum Group, published respected papers, and contributed to important discoveries, Suicune's one-tap purification baffled him. "One tap and nuclear waste becomes clean. Zero scientific logic."
He recalled a popular joke: The frontier of science is theology. Sisco thought that never rang truer. If it were just a matter of decolorizing water, there were plenty of chemical methods. But to remove the radioactivity all at once...truly mind-boggling.
"Even you can't guess? Then Pokémon Biotech is really something," Conrad said, his eyes half closed.
Sisco said, "More than that, this is about Ethan Grave. Forget about Suicune's ability; think about the earlier evolutionary gene technology. I've been studying it for ages with no breakthrough. Sigh, the new generation overtakes the old."
Conrad nodded thoughtfully. "At least he's from our country," he murmured and cleared his throat. Then he instructed, "All right, take samples from each pool, check them thoroughly."
As Suicune left, lab workers in hazmat suits entered and collected test vials. Half an hour passed as they triple-checked for radioactivity. Finally, the results came in:
All the nuclear waste samples showed no detectable radiation. Once again, Suicune's abilities proved to be extraordinary.
The entire review team was stunned, confirmed by these results. They conferred briefly and sent their conclusion upstairs via Conrad.
Shortly thereafter, they received word from Beijing:
They would immediately begin talks with Japan on the matter.
