The full moon was out, the light was illuminating the city; the darkness was filling with light as dawn was awaited.
The darkness was calming.
Inside the hospital, the workers were working their late-night shifts as usual.
One of the doctors shouted at another one,
Doctor: Dr. James, we need help here now!
He had short brown hair and black eyes; he looked like a completely ordinary person.
A patient had randomly gotten into cardiac arrest.
Dr. James rushes over to the patient that's on the hospital bed. He pulls up his mask and begins surgery on the patient. The doctors have no idea what caused this heart seizure, but they knew they had to stabilize his heart effectively immediately.
Ryan's heartbeat was an abnormal pattern. No one knew why the patient's heartbeat was beating at such an abnormal rate.
The nurses started panicking, not sure what to do in this situation. As they tried to re-stabilize the heart, nothing was working.
Nurses: Dr. James, what do we do?
Dr. James was a famous doctor across the country.
He mostly lived in New York with his wife, but moved to Central City (Miami) a couple of months ago with his wife.
He was known for his exceptional skills, able to pinpoint where the exact problem is and able to do a safe procedure.
Dr. James: It seems like there's something toxic in his heart. Be careful when you open his stomach. Then I will take the rest from there.
As the doctors safely opened up his stomach to get to his heart, Dr. James used a specialized pin to get whatever toxic substance was in the heart.
Dr. James: Close the patient's chest. Before that, give him asthma medication.
The nurses nodded their heads and began the procedure.
Dr. James: I'm going to the lower layer and getting to the lab.
Dr. James went down to the elevator and went to the 8th layer, an underground lab made to create new medicine. The doctors and nurses have been working there to make a cure for a disease that they call "Gray Fog."
When people die, their dreams go to "The Shattered Dreams." Dreams from dead people get broken down into over a billion pieces. They get thrown into there; it's an endless void of nothingness and just broken pieces.
The "Gray Fog" is something that occurs whenever someone dreams; they see thick gray fog but can't conjure up a proper dream.
This was first documented 50 years ago when someone reported that they saw random gray fog in their dreams. The woman said the gray fog went away for a bit but came back, and it thickened and thickened. In fact, it was so bad the gray fog completely blocked her dreams, and she went into a coma.
Doctors' studies showed that there have been 20,000 documented cases of this disease, and 10 of them are in comas. Some scientists speculate up to 50,000 undocumented cases. Scientists project it to be 5 times that this year.
Only in the last 20 years has research been made, and only now have very early stages of a cure that will hopefully work started to be produced.
Dr. James has gone to the 8th layer of the hospital. The room was completely white, and the temperature was -30 degrees. There were only a couple of samples made. The cure looked like a blue fluid.
All the nurses and doctors weren't currently working there, as their shifts had finished.
Dr. James smiled.
Dr. James: Good, it's coming all together. The cure is coming along nicely.
Then Dr. James went to the empty white wall. All of a sudden, he phased through the wall.
It was another elevator; it seemed like it was going to the 9th layer.
The elevator door opened.
It was complete darkness.
It was so silent you could hear Dr. James's footsteps echoing through the place.

The noise echoed through the empty floor.
Dr. James: Ugh, this floor feels like the abyss.
He put his finger on his forehead and smiled.
Dr. James: Well, me complaining is ironic, isn't it?
He kept walking through the 9th layer.
It was still completely dark.
Eventually, Dr. James stopped at a point in the endless darkness.
Dr. James: Can you please stop trying to contact the Devil in my hospital? Your dark magic is affecting my patients.
A mysterious tall figure stood up.
???: Sorry about that.
All of a sudden, Dr. James's appearance suddenly changed.
His hair became white and spiky; he had a white suit on, black gloves, a wand, a white fedora with a black stripe. He also had red eyes that had stars as their pupils, with his black shoes slowly approaching the figure.
???: Shall we get started, Janus?
