"Sara, move forward a little. Look at how enthusiastic your people are."
Hearing this, a faint smile appeared on Sara's face.
The sight before her helped her momentarily step out of the sorrow caused by her mother's passing.
She never expected her people to love her so much.
If that was the case…
Then she had to become an excellent queen, just like her mother.
With that thought in mind, Sara took a few more steps forward.
Suddenly, the windowsill beneath her feet crumbled, and she plummeted downward.
"Ahhh!!!"
Sara let out a terrified scream.
The balcony she had been standing on was at least a hundred meters above the ground. There was no way she would survive this fall.
As she plummeted toward the ground, everything around her suddenly went dark.
Then, she heard the steady rhythm of a heartbeat against her ear.
Slowly opening her eyes, she realized she was being held in someone's arms.
"How rude!"
Sara raised her arm, aiming to strike the man holding her.
However, with just a light grip on her wrist, he easily stopped her movement.
"Your Majesty, Sara, it is rather ungrateful to attack the person who just saved your life. Wouldn't you say that's rude instead?"
Hearing the man's words, Sara finally came to her senses.
Had this man just saved her…?
Realizing this, she lowered her head and mumbled, "S-Sorry, I was just scared."
The man chuckled. "Just don't do it again."
"Then… can you put me down now?" Sara asked, her face flushing red.
Uchiha Mirai released his grip, allowing her to step away. She quickly withdrew her hands and stole a glance at him.
So handsome.
T-This guy is ridiculously good-looking…
"You… you're not from our country, are you?"
Mirai nodded. "That's right. I'm a ninja from Konoha. My name is Mirai. What gave me away?"
"Do you know every citizen of Roran?"
Hearing this, Sara shyly lowered her head.
The people of Roran were constantly exposed to the harsh desert sun. There was no way a man this handsome could be from here…
Still, she couldn't bring herself to voice her thoughts.
Seeing her silence, Uchiha Mirai curiously asked, "How did you end up falling from such a high place?"
"If I hadn't been there, you would have died."
Sara thought for a moment and said softly, "I'm not sure. I think I just lost my footing, and then the windowsill crumbled."
Mirai considered this and speculated, "Could someone have pushed you from behind?"
"Otherwise, why would you be the only one to fall?"
Hearing this, Sara's gaze turned cold. "Don't talk nonsense. Anrokuzan would never try to harm me."
"But you…" She suddenly looked at Mirai with suspicion. "You said you're a Konoha ninja?"
"Konoha is in the Land of Fire, isn't it? Why are you here? What are you plotting?"
Faced with Sara's interrogation, Uchiha Mirai wasn't surprised at all.
Compared to Anrokuzan, the man who had transformed Roran into what it was today, a foreign ninja like him was naturally more suspicious.
Just as he was about to explain, dozens of puppet soldiers suddenly attacked their position.
Mirai positioned himself in front of Sara, ready to strike, but before he could make a move, three figures appeared beside him.
"Shibi, Chōza, cover the rear."
A blond-haired ninja issued the command before turning his gaze to Mirai and Sara.
"This place is dangerous. Come with me."
Uchiha Mirai nodded and, before Sara could react, scooped her up in his arms.
Moments later, they disappeared into the alleys.
...
Inside an abandoned, hidden tower,
Mirai finally set Sara down as she struggled in his arms.
"Who are you people?!"
Sara's eyes were filled with caution as she looked at the strangers before her.
Anrokuzan had told her that the outside world was full of deception and treachery.
No one outside of Roran could be trusted.
Hearing Sara's question, the blond-haired youth removed his mask.
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Minato Namikaze. I'm a ninja from Konoha."
"These two are my teammates, Shibi Aburame and Chōza Akimichi."
More Konoha ninjas.
Sara's expression turned cold. "What are you doing in Roran?"
Minato replied in a serious tone, "Our village received a mission request from Roran. Anrokuzan intends to harness the power of the Dragon Vein to destroy the ninja world. The Queen tasked us with investigating him and ensuring your safety."
"Anrokuzan? Destroy the ninja world?" Sara scoffed. "What nonsense."
"And besides… I never hired you Konoha ninjas to protect me."
Seeing her reaction, Minato explained, "The mission request came from the Queen."
Sara let out a cold laugh. "That's impossible."
"Anrokuzan is the one who built Roran into what it is today. He was my mother's most trusted advisor. There's no way she would order an investigation on him."
Shibi couldn't help but interject, "The request did come from the Queen. We have no reason to lie."
"Hmph!" Sara snorted. "Who knows if you made up this story just to seize the power of the Dragon Vein."
"I'll investigate this matter myself."
Pointing at Mirai and Minato's group, she declared, "You Konoha ninjas are not to follow me."
With that, Sara turned and ran off.
Minato, Shibi, and Chōza all turned their gazes toward Mirai.
From what Sara had just said, was this guy also a Konoha ninja?
His flowing white hair, striking features, and refined demeanor…
If Konoha had someone like him, they would have known about it.
Under their scrutinizing stares, Mirai spoke calmly.
"While I was pursuing Mukade—otherwise known as Anrokuzan—he disrupted the barrier sealing the Dragon Vein."
"A pillar of dark purple light appeared, and the next thing I knew, I was here."
"At first, it was confusing, but after seeing you three, I understand now."
Minato and his teammates looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"
Mirai chuckled. "Minato, Shibi, Chōza… We could be considered old acquaintances."
"What?!"
Minato and the others were stunned. "But we've never met you before."
"Of course," Mirai said with a smile. "It makes sense that you wouldn't remember me."
"Because… I've likely traveled here from the future."
