After the magnificent battle that caused the entire mountain to be engulfed in fire, Ash escaped from the mountain in his human form to minimize the risk of getting caught.
Granted, once he reached the valley, he immediately located Ye Yinghui's whereabouts through their mental connection.
Before long, he rendezvoused with the two at the next mountain further south. Ash didn't mind a slight detour as long as his beast companions were safe and sound.
