"What about the one you bought yesterday?"
Looking at the tall, ruggedly handsome man she had seen this morning, Gianna couldn't help but query.
She never knew Lucas smoked this much. The whole time they had gone on vacation together, he hadn't smoked, nor did he seem like the type to finish a whole pack in one day. She couldn't help but find it surprising.
Did he even know that smoking was bad for the lungs?
He glanced at her, dropped a hundred-dollar bill on the counter, and grabbed the cigarette.
Before going out, he leaned closer and whispered, "I didn't say you can—"
He was cut short when something suddenly hit his head, followed by the sensation of sticky liquid dripping down.
Gianna barely had time to react before the unmistakable stench of raw egg filled the air. She gasped as she saw his black hair now tainted with yolk and sticky egg whites. Covering her mouth in disbelief, her eyes slowly turned toward the entrance of the store.
