Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Five Times

While he was alone at home, Jun An borrowed Himeko's computer and sent her a message, letting her know he was using it. Then, Jun An began researching necessary information online.

Although only a year had passed, the world had experienced something as monumental as defeating the Honkai, so it should have undergone significant changes.

Jun An first searched for related terms like "Finality," "Honkai," and so on.

When Otto stepped down, the existence of the great Honkai Eruptions had already been announced to the world. Additionally, situations like the Stigma Project causing all humanity to fall asleep and spatial chaos were explained away by Schicksal using the term "Honkai," so the word still had considerable popularity.

However, the information online was very mixed, with a lot of fake news. For example, occasional strange noises in homes, sightings of female ghosts roaming cities, or claims of seeing someone eating potato chips on the moon through astronomical telescopes – many people considered these abnormal phenomena shadows of the Honkai.

Some online bloggers had even started exploring the Honkai. Unfortunately, they either found nothing or were warned by Schicksal, which ironically boosted their popularity.

In summary, because Honkai energy was slowly being drawn towards Kiana of Finality on the moon, the amount of Honkai energy on Earth was decreasing. Eruptions capable of producing Emperor-class Honkai Beasts hadn't occurred even once.

Compared to the global panic caused by Otto awakening Sirin, and the past where several Herrschers had to be fought each year, involving multiple major Honkai Eruptions, the current life was indeed exceptionally peaceful. In relatively peaceful places like Europe, even the Honkai had become post-dinner gossip, like urban legends.

Schicksal, on the other hand, seemed to have publicly released some information about the Honkai and had even begun writing it into textbooks, although they hadn't been published yet.

Of course, writing it in detail was quite difficult. The history of fighting the Honkai was complex, involving not just the main battlefields against Herrschers, but also countless Valkyries fighting bloody battles against various Honkai outbreaks.

Just the fact that Jun An was present in almost every major Honkai Eruption indirectly necessitated some beautification when describing the process of fighting the Honkai.

Using Himeko's credentials, Jun An looked at the unpublished first draft on the official St. Freya site. It mentioned that during the fight against the Herrscher of Dominance, Jun An found the ability to instantly pull others into the Theater of Domination too troublesome, as it had caused heavy losses for the Anti-Entropy forces in North America.

Therefore, the Captain of the Hyperion employed a clever tactic: using the power of the Herrscher of the Void, he flooded the Theater of Domination with the waste products generated by the entire planet, successfully forcing out most of the Herrscher of Dominance avatars.

Schicksal did indeed record this event in the historical facts of combating the Honkai. However, since textbooks are meant for education, they naturally choose positive aspects to write about. After revision, this section was appropriately summarized and glossed over.

By the third revision, it seemed that because Jun An appeared too frequently and was undeniably one of the main forces and commanders in fighting the Honkai, they had no choice but to further embellish his image based on the original foundation.

But Jun An noticed that descriptions of other Valkyries were often filled with praise like "majestic and powerful," "unflinching against strong enemies," etc. When it came to him, however, it repeatedly used phrases like "making enemies tremble upon hearing his name," essentially painting Jun An as a butcher general akin to Bai Qi...

Seriously, Jun An really wanted to roast the textbook writers for treating a great hero of the Honkai war like this, portraying him as so brutal. Hadn't he at least blocked a world-ending blow? Unfortunately, the textbook seemed not to have reached that part yet.

Jun An spent the morning reading the history textbook drafts, and Himeko and Theresa returned with new clothes and daily necessities.

Jun An closed the computer and asked, "You're back just in time. I have something I want to ask you."

"What is it, Captain?" Theresa and Himeko put down the clothes they bought for Jun An. "Don't tell me you found something you shouldn't have on Himeko's computer?"

"This one is for work. Haven't found anything interesting yet." Jun An got back to the point. "I wanted to ask if you have any clues about the culprit who killed me."

The mission the System gave him now was to find the person who killed him back then and figure out how to kill them in return.

This indeed coincided with Jun An's own thoughts. After all, that was a planet-busting enemy, second only to Finality. It looked exactly like the kind of second ultimate villain created after defeating the first one, possibly on the same level as Finality.

Unfortunately, during the year Jun An spent back home, the developers never finished the story for him. He only knew that in the second year after the Honkai ended, Seele went joyriding into the Sea of Quanta, and Fu Hua led several mini-Vitas against a mini-Otto. Then came the classic miHoYo cliffhanger, and Jun An's vacation time was over.

Currently, Jun An had some intel, but not much.

Theresa thought for a moment, her expression turning serious. "Since it was an attack aimed directly at Earth, we investigated it for a long time. But even using the Second Divine Key, we could only determine that the attack came from the depths of the Sea of Quanta, and that its original target seemed to be Kiana, who hadn't fully become Finality, aiming to kill her. It was just blocked by you beforehand, Captain."

Himeko also sat down next to Jun An and added, "We never stopped investigating the mastermind. Unfortunately, after that incident, they seemed to vanish without a trace, like a naturally occurring phenomenon, leaving no clues."

"Captain, as the sole victim of that attack, didn't you notice anything?"

Jun An shook his head. Currently, there was indeed one enemy who fit the criteria: Sa.

But the miHoYo universe was vast, and Jun An's own worldline already had many differences from the original. So, Jun An couldn't be entirely sure if it was Sa.

After all, that entity was supposedly so afraid of Finality that it hid from the Fourth Planet all the way into the Sea of Quanta. Would it really dare attack Earth?

In any case, his experience as a transmigrator told Jun An it was best not to assume based on the plot. According to the System, even worlds experiencing things like "weird invasions" into the Honkai universe existed, so it wouldn't be strange for new enemies to appear in this world.

Even the various bosses in this world, some of them were twice as strong as their original counterparts.

"Looks like I'll have to start with the Sea of Quanta." Jun An immediately thought of the Eye of the Deep, the most direct link between Earth and the Sea of Quanta. "Who's managing the Eye of the Deep now?"

"Cocolia," Himeko replied. "Unfortunately, because I detained her yesterday to help me handle some accumulated work for the Far East Branch, she ran off overnight. Otherwise, you could have gone straight to her."

"Then let's wait a while." Jun An wasn't in a hurry to find someone now. The enemy was at least planet-busting level. Although Jun An currently had baseline stats provided by the System reaching A-rank level, he was still far from planet-busting. It wasn't too late to find a way to level up first.

"Right, here's your phone and wallet. Theresa and I picked them out for you." Himeko handed a phone and a leather wallet to Jun An. "Your ID card and bank card are inside. I've also deposited your salary from Theresa and your share of the inheritance."

As expected of the current manager of the Far East Branch, she could handle his identity matters in just one morning.

"Thanks. Perfect timing, I'll go change my clothes." Jun An was about to get up to change out of Himeko's clothes into something more presentable.

"By the way, which room was mine again? It's been too long since I came back to the Far East Branch, I can't quite remember." Jun An hadn't returned to his room in the Far East Branch since defecting from Schicksal; the memory was hazy now.

"Captain, why go to another room to change clothes?" Theresa suddenly grabbed Jun An's hand.

"Huh?" Jun An let out a sound of surprise. Seeing the smile in her eyes, he couldn't help but admire the forty-something legal loli's lust. He glanced towards Himeko and whispered, "But Himeko is still here."

However, Himeko heard him. She leaned right in, observing him up close. Her chest was only slightly smaller than Jun'an's head in its current form, and it was incredibly soft.

Himeko leaned in close to Jun'an's ear and seductively said, "With me here, isn't it better?"

And so, Jun'an began to engage in some intimate activities right there in the room.
