Ei didn't know how long it had been since she had traveled far from home.
When she stepped off the ship and onto the land of Liyue, the wind of Liyue greeted her, blowing her purple hair.
Along with the wind came the vibrant scent of life in Liyue Harbor.
As expected of the largest trading port in Teyvat, its scale was much larger than the docks in Inazuma's island.
This harbor operated day and night, handling an unimaginable volume of trade.
Ei looked around, adjusted her breath, and walked toward the bustling streets.
Under her sister's "order," Ei ultimately left. She didn't tell Yu Xie that she was coming to Liyue, nor did she ask where he was in Liyue.
She wanted to find him on her own.
Walking on the street, the crowd was bustling.
The street was lined with all sorts of stalls, a mix of people, with Liyue's unique storytellers narrating tales, their voices rising and falling. Laughter and cheer filled the air, and there were enticing aromas wafting around.
Ei stopped and quickly determined that the tempting scent was coming from a nearby restaurant.
Ei walked over and saw the sign above the door, which read "Wanmin Restaurant" in large characters.
It was almost noon, and although Ei wasn't hungry, the tempting aroma made her want to try the food here.
She walked inside and took a seat at an empty table.
Soon, a cute girl with short hair came over, smiling as she asked:
"Hello, may I take your order?"
"You are...?" Ei, not used to dining alone at a restaurant, was momentarily taken aback and simply stared at the girl.
"I'm Xiangling, a waiter and chef here at Wanmin Restaurant. This must be your first time here, right? Did you just arrive at Liyue Harbor today?" Xiangling smiled brightly, showing her enthusiasm.
"Mm." Ei nodded. "I'm here in Liyue to find someone."
"I see... Well, you have to fill your stomach before you can properly search for someone. What would you like to eat, guest sister? The dishes here at Wanmin Restaurant may not be as refined as those at Xinyue Kiosk or Glaze Pavilion, but I can guarantee the taste will definitely satisfy you, and the prices are much more affordable!"
"...Do you have any signature dishes you'd recommend?" Ei asked, looking at the menu, uncertain.
"Signature dishes... how about our boiled fish?" Xiangling said confidently. "I've been constantly improving it, and our boiled fish has always received great reviews."
"Then I'll have that dish," Ei said.
"Great! Please wait a moment, guest sister," Xiangling smiled and turned to head to the kitchen, but then suddenly thought of something. She stopped, turned around, and asked, "By the way, guest sister, what's the name of the person you're looking for? Maybe I can help you find them."
"No need to trouble yourself, I want to find him on my own," Ei smiled lightly.
"I see. Well, I wish you the best of luck in finding that person!" Xiangling said before heading into the kitchen.
Before long, the boiled fish was ready.
With the addition of Jueyun Chili, the broth had a bright red color and smelled incredibly fragrant.
Ei picked up her chopsticks and tried a small piece of the fish. It was tender, juicy, and perfectly spiced, making her appetite grow.
She hadn't expected that a seemingly ordinary young girl could make such delicious food. Ei glanced at the kitchen with a bit more respect in her eyes.
As for herself... she couldn't seem to learn how to cook, no matter how hard she tried.
If she were to stay in Liyue for a while, perhaps she could ask this young girl for some cooking tips?
After finishing the boiled fish and leaving Wanmin Restaurant, Ei thought about wandering around and also solving the accommodation issue.
When she was in Inazuma, she had heard of a well-known inn in Liyue—Wangshu Inn. Unfortunately, it was not located within Liyue Harbor, so she would have to find another place to stay.
As she walked along the street, Ei continued to take in the local customs and the bustling vibrancy of Liyue Harbor.
As she walked, she noticed something unusual.
While other areas were crowded with people, the area she was now passing through was nearly deserted, with almost no one around.
Only a beautiful young girl dressed in brown with a black hat stood leaning on the railing, looking somewhat troubled.
At that moment, another person walked up to stand beside her.
It was a tall, slender man dressed in brown and black, and Ei recognized him.
Upon seeing him clearly, Ei was slightly surprised.
"Director, what troubles you?" Zhongli walked up to Hu Tao's side.
"I'm thinking... Everyone is so wary of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's business that even in the middle of a bustling day, people avoid getting too close to it," Hu Tao said. "I need to come up with a solution..."
After thinking for a moment, the worry on Hu Tao's face vanished, and she smiled proudly. "I've got it! Guest, come with me!"
With that, Hu Tao pulled Zhongli out of the area.
As Zhongli turned around, he noticed Ei standing on the street outside. For a moment, he was slightly surprised.
However, both Ei and Zhongli chose to remain silent and did not acknowledge each other's identities.
It wasn't until Hu Tao and Zhongli had walked away that Ei let out a soft sigh.
She wondered to herself if, like Morax, she and her sister might one day step down from their divine thrones and live as ordinary people.
Before she realized it, it was already late afternoon, nearing evening.
Ei arrived at an inn and booked a room.
The inn was quite nice, and Ei chose a room where she could see the sea from the window. The view was beautiful.
In the wind, there seemed to be a faint scent of the sea, which made Ei feel as if she were still in Inazuma.
After dinner, as night fell, Ei sat in her room, contemplating how she could find Yu Xie.
If she searched aimlessly, it would be very difficult to find someone in such a large place like Liyue Harbor.
If the fate wasn't right, she might never find him, always missing each other.
But Ei was reluctant to directly inquire about Yu Xie's whereabouts. Yet, apart from that, she couldn't think of any better way.
Ei thought for a moment and decided to take a walk.
The night view of Liyue Harbor was vastly different from Inazuma City, yet just as lively.
The streets were filled with flickering lights, bustling crowds, and the vibrant atmosphere of the night.
In Liyue, no one knew Ei. She didn't need to disguise herself. She could walk down the street confidently, without worrying about being recognized, and freely enjoy the pleasure of a leisurely stroll.
Such moments weren't so bad. If only Yu Xie were here with her...
