Chapter 4 - Making move

A week passed quickly.

The sun was already high in the sky when Steve stepped out of the taxi in front of the football association building. He was dressed this time on black suit, white shirt, and polished shoes. Today was important. Today, he was going to become the new owner of Ridge City FC.

He walked confidently through the front doors. The receptionist gave him a smile and pointed toward James' office. He didn't need directions. He already knew the way.

Inside the office, Gabriel was already seated. He looked calm , but his eyes watched Steve carefully. James stood between them with a folder in his hand.

"Gentlemen, the contracts are ready. All we need now are your signatures," James said with a proud smile.

Steve walked to the desk and picked up the pen without hesitation. With one swift motion, he signed his name on the dotted line. Gabriel followed after, his hand slightly slower.

James clapped his hands. "Congratulations, Mr. Steve. You are now the official owner of Ridge City FC!"

Ding!

[Congratulations! You have acquired Ridge City FC!]

Steve smiled to himself. Now the real work begins.

"Mr. Gabriel," Steve turned to him. "Thank you for trusting me with your club. I won't disappoint you."

Gabriel nodded. "I hope so. This club means a lot to me. I'll be watching."

After a few more handshakes and small talk, Gabriel left the room.

Steve stayed behind with James.

"I need full access to the club facilities," Steve said. "Training ground, staff files, everything."

James nodded. "I'll arrange that right now. You can start visiting the club tomorrow morning."

Steve left the office, feeling like a new chapter of his life had just begun. Outside, he called a taxi and headed straight to the club.

---

The next day on the club's main entrance looked old, worn out, and almost forgotten. Paint was peeling, grass overgrown, and the Ridge City FC sign was fading.

"This place looks like it's been abandoned," Steve muttered.

Ding!

[New Objective: Renovate the Club's Exterior and Main Office. Reward: +10 Club Reputation]

Steve shook his head. System, you're really going to make me work.

Just then, a tall man in a tracksuit approached him. He looked to be in his late 30s, dark-skinned, athletic, and had a whistle hanging around his neck.

"You must be the new owner. I'm Coach Tega, head coach of Ridge City FC."

Steve reached out for a handshake. "Nice to meet you, Coach. I'll be relying on you a lot."

Coach Tega nodded. "We've got a lot of work to do. The players haven't been paid in two months, and morale is low. Our best striker left last week."

Steve sighed. "First things first—we're going to fix all that. But I need to meet the team today. Set up a meeting in the locker room."

"Yes, sir."

---

 30 Minutes Later

The players gathered one by one, sitting quietly in front of their new boss. Some looked hopeful, others looked doubtful.

Steve stood in front of them. He didn't raise his voice, but every word carried weight.

"My name is Steve. I just became the owner of this club yesterday. I know things have been rough, but starting today, everything changes."

The room was silent.

"I've already approved funds to pay all your back salaries. You'll all receive your payments by tomorrow morning."

Some of the players looked at each other, surprised.

"And one more thing," Steve continued. "We're upgrading your training facilities. I don't expect miracles overnight, but I expect hard work, discipline, and commitment. Give me that, and I'll take you to the top."

Ding!

[Team Morale Increased! +10% Training Effectiveness]

A player in the back raised his hand. "Sir, do we have a match this weekend?"

Steve turned to Coach Tega.

"Yes," Coach replied. "We're playing against Green Park FC. Away match."

Steve nodded. "Good. That gives me enough time to observe and make some changes."

He looked at the players again.

"Train hard. I'll be watching all of you."

---

Later that night, Steve sat in his new office inside the club building. The place still needed a lot of work, but it already felt like home.

He opened the club dashboard on his tablet. The system had updated everything—finances, player stats, staff roles. A small smile played on his lips.

Let's build something great.
