Julian took a sip of his juice as he stared at his phone. He felt proud for stressing all those alphas. With this thought, his smile widened.
He took another sip of his juice and frowned. It was too sweet, he preferred alcohol. Unfortunately, he was at a restaurant where there was no strong alcohol. He could get wine but wine and juice were the same for him. He ordered juice because he wanted to try something different.
But after a while, he ordered the strongest wine they had.
"That's strange," Someone spoke in front of him and when he looked up he cursed his luck. "I've never seen an omega prefer strong wine to sweet juice." The person took the juice he had abandoned and sipped it himself.
Julian frowned but decided not to comment about that statement. "I didn't think I would be found so soon," He sighed in regret.
"Well, technically, you haven't been found yet. Not until I call your brother."
"Well, won't you?"
"I will. But before that, I'm rather curious. Why would you run away from home?"
"Why? Are omegas not allowed to leave their home for a few days?"
"It's dangerous."
"I can protect myself."
"Really?" The person wasn't convinced. He sipped the juice and smiled, he liked sweet stuff.
"I've never seen an alpha prefer sweet juice to strong wine you know," Julian decided to attack with his own words.
The person smiled and didn't say anything. Julian also smiled, feeling victorious of course.
"But, my dear prince, what if something happened?"
"Do you want me to show you that I can protect myself... my dear Rael?"
Rael nodded, sure there was nothing his best friend's brother could do. Julian told him to finish his drink first. Once they were done and paid, they left the restaurant full of humans.
Julian led him to an empty alley. He didn't know what Julian was planning but he was curious. He was also confident, he was well known for being one of the strongest alphas.
What he didn't know was that Julian despite being an omega had practised his whole life. He was determined to be the strongest omega and he was sure he had succeeded to surpass most alphas.
Julian didn't waste time and twisted Rael's arm once they arrived. Rael winced in pain and tried to break free but couldn't.
Julian showed no mercy. He kicked the back of his right knee making him kneel on one knee, and pushed him against a wall, his arm twisted behind his back.
Julian then leaned and whispered in his ear, "There's one thing that you alphas never understand," He increased his strength making Rael wince, "You alphas were born with your strength while omegas are born weak. Because of this, you don't work hard to increase your strength but an omega can work hard and be on equal terms with you. Only... " Julian pushed him down and walked away, raising Rael's phone in the air, "I am stronger."
Rael was shocked to see his phone in Julian's hands. He tried to chase after him but his knee was quite hurt and he had to wait for it to heal. "Fuck, how the hell did he do that?" He whispered, ashamed and fearful.
....
Rylan frowned when his third call wasn't picked up. Was he being ignored?
He dialed the number he had somehow memorized and pressed the call button. This time the call was declined. Just like that, his call was declined.
Rylan clenched his phone angrily, "Oh so now you won't pick up my calls? Fine! Then we'll see if I ever speak to you again!"
He felt disappointed. Wade had disappeared again, even after they talked. He frowned again as he wondered why he even cared that much.
He knew why but he didn't like it.
The truth was open, he was falling for Wade, the alpha prince of Ethereal Pack, the person who could kill him at any moment.
Inside him, his wolf howled. The thought of Wade killing him was painful even to his wolf. What did that mean? Did it mean that he had fallen too deep?
It was a long time since he spoke to his wolf since most of the time wolves slept.
[Arius.]
[I want to see his wolf.]
[That's not possible. We should forget about him. You know who he is.]
[But can you?]
[It's better than him killing me.]
Rylan kicked a rock. He was walking in the woods.
[Do you want to breathe Arius?] He wanted to turn but before he could he heard a familiar voice.
"Rylan?" Wade called out, shocked, "what are you doing here?"
Rylan was in a daze as Wade approached and scanned him. Speak of the devil.
"Oh, I wanted to give my wolf the chance to breathe," Rylan answered feeling lucky that he hadn't turned.
"What? It's dangerous here!" Wade's voice was harsh. Now that Rylan looked at him properly, he noticed the bags under his eyes and the obviously tiredness in his appearance.
"It's okay, I can protect myself. What about you, what are you doing here? You haven't been picking up my calls."
"Ooh? I'm sorry. I've been looking for my brother and haven't been picking up any calls unless it's from or about my brother. I didn't even know you called."
"Your brother?"
"Yeah, he ran away from home and I can't find or get through to him. I came to see if something dangerous happened to him here."
"You seem tired, you should rest."
"I can't, what if something happens to him?"
"I'm sure if he ran away from home himself he knows how to take care of himself. He's grown up after all. But you... Have you been taking care of yourself? When was the last time you took some rest?"
"Rest? Who cares about that now? Julian is probably in danger. I have to find him," Wade said and continued walking. He wasn't in the right mind, maybe lack of sleep got to him.
But the next second, his body was falling limply.
Rylan quickly stretched his arms to catch him and ended up falling with him.
"Idiot," Rylan sighed.
